About Our Food

At Prêt we think it is really important to know what you are eating. Here are a few notes that explain what we do and why we do it. Please do read them.

At some point during our first year of Prêt, a big supplier tried to sell us coleslaw that lasted sixteen days. Can you imagine, salad that lasts sixteen days? There and then we decided Prêt would stick to wholesome fresh food. Natural stuff, the sort of ingredients you would use at home. We have not changed that policy.

When it comes to sandwiches we are convinced that additive free ingredients are essential. The fact is, natural food tastes best and is good for you. We make our sandwiches, wraps and baguettes in each shop throughout the day. And we are constantly working to eliminate shelf life extenders, artificial colourings and stabilizers from our kitchens. If it is not natural, it is not Prêt.

We are constantly updating our menu to introduce changes and new ideas. The combinations are the results of years of trial and error. One of the great challenges we face is the endless hunt for superb fresh ingredients.
