The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that machinery exists for the speedy resolution of individual grievances, but the procedure itself cannot guarantee the resolution of any particular grievance. This depends on all concerned adopting a reasonable attitude to problems. Any issues arising will be dealt with as quickly and as near the level of origin as possible.
2. If you have a grievance you should in the first instance discuss the matter informally with your immediate superior. Only if this informal discussion fails to produce a mutually acceptable solution should you move to the next stage in the procedure. A member of Senior Management may be present at any stage of the procedure to give advice or assistance where necessary.
3. The next stage in the procedure is for you formally to raise your grievance in writing with your immediate superior who will arrange a meeting to discuss the grievance within 5 working days of your request. You are entitled at this formal meeting and at the subsequent stages in the procedure o be assisted or represented by a fellow employees of your choice. A formal written note of this meeting and any argeed conclusions will be made and a copy given to you or your representative (if any) with 5 working days of the date of the meeting.
4. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of this formal meeting you may appeal in writing to your departmental manger will arrange a formal meeting to hear your grievance with 5 working days of receiving the written note of the meeting. Your departmental Manager will arrange a formal meeting to hear your grievance with 5 working days of receiving your appeal. A director of the company will attend this meeting in an ad visory capacity . You will be notified in writing of the Director’s decision on your appeal and a copy of this decision will be sent to your representative. The director’s decision will be final.
