On Monday, November 29, Godzilla received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  The ceremony took place at 11:30 am, on Hollywood Boulevard, in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater.  Godzilla series producer Shogo Tomiyama, several members of the cast and crew of Godzilla Final Wars, and the big G himself were there to accept the honor.  (Click on select images to see larger versions.)

The ceremony culminated with the unveiling of the star itself.  Godzilla was also given a plaque, with a reproduction of the star, to commemorate the occasion.  Above: Godzilla shows off his plaque.  That's Godzilla Final Wars director Ryuhei Kitamura behind Godzilla (above middle).  Above right: GFW leading lady Rei Kikukawa and special effects director Eiichi Asada.
Chibi-Megaro-Goji Mecha G menaces Jen Mecha G has a young fan!
After the Walk of Fame ceremony, the large crowd began to disperse.  As the barricades were being taken down, Jen and I migrated to the courtyard of Grauman's Chinese Theater.  There, we encountered several costumed fans.  Above left: Little Godzilla.  Above middle and right:  An awesome MechaGodzilla, Showa-style!

Godzilla's star
Once the area was cleared, we were able to see the freshly-minted star for ourselves.  Above left: Godzilla's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is located at 6925 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater, which is one of the prime spots.  Above right: As Jen was trying to pose by Godzilla's star, she got jumped by Chucky (from the Child's Play movies)!
