G-Fest X took place Friday, July 18 - Sunday, July 20, 2003, at the Radisson Hotel in Arlington Heights, IL (just outside Chicago). The special guests were Noriaki Yuasa (director of the Showa Gamera series), Carl Craig (intrepid boy scout Jim Morgan in Gamera vs. Viras), and Robert Scott Field (Android M-11 in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah). The theatrical movie screenings included Battle In Outer Space, Gamera 3: Revenge Of Iris, and the North American premiere of Godzilla, Mothra, And King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. DMI webmaster Philip (Zillamon51) and guest reviewer Jen were both in attendance. We created this page to give all of our visitors a look at the convention. We had a lot of fun, and hope to meet some of you there in the years ahead! |

| Saturday night was a very special event: The North American premiere of Godzilla, Mothra, And King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. Even though director Shusuke Kaneko was in the house, he chose to remain (mostly) incognito for the showing. The film was enthusiastically received by the audience. While many fans had seen the movie on video, just as many had not. Seeing a great movie like this on the big screen, in a theater with an appreciative audience, is a whole new experience. | |||||||||||

| Above: On Sunday morning, an autograph session was held with Noriaki Yuasa and Robert Scott Field. Carl Craig had a table in the dealer's room. He was available at various times throughout the weekend to autograph merchandise, sell photos, and display movie props from Gamera vs. Viras. He had some cool items, such as Jim Morgan's original camera, a ray gun signed by Noriyaki Yuasa and co-star Kojiro Hongo, the original script, and an album of photos and press clippings. | It's time to leave G-Fest until next year. Don't forget to say goodbye to the big Godzilla and Gamera models in the lobby (above). Hopefully, this familiar sight will be there to greet us again next year, and many more after that. See you there! | |||||||||||
