Sengoku sees himself as lucky and is perhaps one most blessed by Ladyluck. He is often humble, not being too outward as to aggressively prove his strength, and usually just excuses himself by saying it's all luck. At the same, he is also the type who won't mind earning a victory by merely luck, for example: the rival school came in late for the tournament, thus disqualified. ^_^" However, people know that he did not go all the way to the top just by luck and that he certainly has the skills to do it. Last but not least to mention, he is surely one happy-go-lucky guy.

Basic information:
Akutsu is by far the most violent and abusive character in the story. His actions are rough, often including humiliating and beating people up. He also hates to be given orders and told what to do. During elementary, he was also Kawamura's 'friend' though he never sees him as one. Akutsu is cold, unfriendly, lonesome and unapproachable and is the type who will never allow himself to socialize. Though he is good at everything he does, at the same time he is interested in nothing. He is one of the most skilled rival characters, but ironically, he does not really give a shit about tennis either. In replace for not having any special moves, Akutsu has the ability to return shots at any angle/posture, and also to change target return direction any time before he hits it.

Name: Muromachi Touji
School year: Two

Basic information:
Muromachi is one of Yamabuki's regulars who unfortunately did not get the chance to play during their match against Seigaku. However he did appear a little bit in the match against Fudoumine when they were competing for the consolation place, with Ibu Shinji as his opponent. Not much more about him is known.

Minami played doubles with Masami (below) against Ooishi and Kikumaru during the prefecturals. They have played each other before the previous year and had defeated the Golden Pair using their attack-one-opponent strategy, which they chose to be Kikumaru.

Dan is a very eager freshman manager. He is rather small and short, similiar to Ryouma, and believes that he does not have the body required to play real tennis, thus only helping as a manager. He is also practically the only one who truly does not fear Akutsu and sees him positively, even nearly up to a point of proving it. As a result, he is also the only one who tries to get close to Akutsu though often responded with ignores. Dan admires Akutsu for everything, looking up to him and seeing him as his role model. However, what he doesn't realize is Akutsu isn't exactly the right role model whose footsteps he should be following - it should be someone smaller, close to his own size.

Name: Mikiya Banda (Nickname: Banji)
Position: Coach
Basic information:
Banji, as Sumire and Nanjirou calls him, is the coach of Yamabuki's tennis team, and apparently an old accquaintance of theirs. He is always smiling without fail and sometimes even joking around, but he was not well-liked by Sumire and Nanjirou, due to an old 'incident' in the past. Banji has strong, motivative words that somehow seem to push his players to play up to their limits. Sumire and Nanjirou sees this part of him as scheming, as it was what that gave Seigaku's its defeat in the old days when Nanjirou was still a teenager at Seigaku. Banji is also the one who convinced Akutsu to join Yamabuki's team temporarily, just for the tournament.
