Backstage, in the locker room, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed The Four Horsemen about their respective matches against members of DX. The Horsemen had Woman, Elizabeth, Debra, & Fifi with them, as well. Ric Flair bragged about how standing with all these women looked like being in an En Vouge magazine, because life can't get any better for the Nature Boy. Flair said that Shawn Michaels better not take him lightly, because he hasn't been World Champion so many times for nothing. Arn Anderson told Triple H that the reason why The Four Horsemen have reputation is because they have earned it, and tonight at Ground Zero, they will prove it to the world, once again. Brian Pillman told the New Age Outlaws that they will never even touch the FWW World Tag Team Titles, as long as he and Benoit are part of the most elite group in all of professional wrestling. Chris Benoit said that tonight they will be silent, but violent. As both Anderson and HHH make their respective entrances, Double A had Woman in his corner, and Triple H had Stephanie McMahon in his corner. The bell rings, and this match is underway. Both The Game and The Enforcer lock up in a collor and elbow tie-up, and HHH easily has the strength advantage over Arn Anderson. But, Arn was a rugged, grizzled veteran of this sport for a long time. Arn once again locks up with Hunter, but then takes HHH down with an armdrag into an armbar. Arn Anderson is obviously going back to what made him "The Enforcer" by working on the arm of his opponent, pulling on it and tugging on the arm of HHH, and continuing to work on that body part, until he could get a submission out of his opponent. But soon, Hunter was able to get out of the hold, and throw Arn Anderson out onto the outside where Steph was. As HHH distracted the referee, Stephanie raked the eyes of Double A. But Woman was there to put a stop to the actions of the Billion Dollor Princess, and soon, a catfight ensued between Woman & Stephanie. While that went on, The Enforcer went back into the ring, and continued his battle with The Game. Arn floored HHH with the hammerlock slam, and tried to work on Hunter's arm a little bit more, until HHH turned the tide on Arn Anderson by sending him into the ropes, and knocking Arn down with the Harley Race-like high knee. HHH went for a cover, but only got a two count. HHH tried whipping Arn Anderson into the ropes, again, but Arn reversed it, sending HHH into the ropes and Arn Anderson was setting HHH up for the Anderson Spinebuster. But, HHH being the Cerebral Assassin was one up on The Enforcer, as he was able to execute the knee to the face move on Double A, before kicking him in the gut, and giving the dreaded pedigree to The Enforcer, and covering him. The referee got down into position, and counted. 1..........2...........3! Triple H wins! Woman can't believe it, as she slides into the ring to check on Arn Anderson, HHH helped out Stephanie, as The Game was victorious over The Enforcer. But, the war between the Four Horsemen and DeGeneration X is far from over. As Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels made their entrances to the ring, HBK had Tori in his corner, Ric Flair had got one up on Shawn by upping the numbers game by bringing Elizabeth, Debra, & Fifi out to the ring, as he asked, "What's causing all this?" The bell rang, and the match was on. Shawn and Ric gave the fans a technical wrestling clinc as Flair was showing HBK that HE was the master of ring phsychology, outwrestling The Showstopper in the early going. But Shawn soon tried to use Flair's tactics against him by working on Flair's legs near the ropes, and then putting The Nature Boy in the figure four leglock. Ric Flair was screaming in pain, as Shawn kept up the pressure, but Flair showed the world once again why he is the Nature Boy, showing his heart and determination by reversing the hold into an Indian Deathlock. But, HBK soon got out of the hold, and soon used his patented arial assualt on Flair, going up to the top turnbuckle, and flying through the air with the flying elbow drop. Shawn Michaels covered Ric Flair, but only got a two count from the referee. Shawn was a little fustrated as he started pounding away on Flair with his fists. Shawn picked up Flair, and set him for a piledriver. But, Flair reversed it into a back body drop, sending HBK down onto the mat. As Flair fought to get back to his feet, it was time to go to school. Now, it was Ric Flair's turn to work on Shawn's legs. Flair softened up Shawn's legs to the point where it was time to slap on the figure four leglock. When Flair slapped it on, Flair tried to use the ropes for leverage, but the referee caught him, and made him release the hold. HBK struggled to get to his feet in the ring corner, and then, it was time for some sweet chin music. As Shawn tuned up the band, Flair got up, and HBK went in for the kill. But, as Shawn thrusted his boot at Flair, Flair caught HBK's foot, and tripped Shawn down back to the canvas. Ric Flair slapped the figure four back on HBK, and this time, they were in the middle of the ring. There was nowhere for Shawn to go. Knowing that all was lost, HBK submitted to Flair, and the referee called for the bell, and awarded the match to the Nature Boy. Ric Flair left with his ladies hanging on his arms as he was victorious over the leader of DX. It was now time for the ten man tag team match between The Royal Family and The Dudes With Atittudes. As both factions made their entrances to the ring, both teams were aware of the history between them. The match started our with Backlund and JYD, as they hook up to start off the match. Bob Backlund showed his technical experience in the early going by outwrestling JYD on the mat. But, JYD was soon able to turn the tables on the former WWF Champion, and soon, Dog was able to show Backlund his toughness before tagging in Scott Steiner. But, Backlund tagged in Doink The Clown, and then, Scott and Doink put on a temporary technical wrestling clinic before Doink soon showed his true colors by cheating with a thumb to the eye. Doink showed off a few suplexes of his own before dragging Scott into his team's corner, and tagging in Hakushi, who showed off his arial tactics against the All-American from the University of Michigan, until Hakushi missed an arial maneuver, allowing Scott to tag in his brother, Rick. The Dog-Faced Gremlin took advantage of the situation by displaying both strenght and skill with several impressive wrestling moves. But, Hakushi soon outsmarted Rick Steiner by taking him down with an enziguri to the back of the head, and then tagging in Dr. Issac Yankem, DDS., who just tore into Steiner and proceeded to give him one hell of a beating, until he uncorked an overhead belly to belly suplex from out of nowhere, and then tagged in Lex Luger, who showed off his superior power ability against the evil dentist. Luger continued to control the match, until Jerry "The King" Lawler made a blind tag. Yankem held Lex for The King as he reached down into his tights, and pulled out a foreign object, and tried to nail Luger with it, but Luger ducked, and Lawler accidently hit Yankem, instead. Lex then tagged in Sting, who immediately went to work on The King, dominating Lawler as a big gang fight spilled onto the outside with the other team mates. Meanwhile, Sting was able to put Lawler in the Scorpion Deathlock long enough for The King to submit. The Dudes With Attitudes have won this match. As The Royal Family retreated, Stinger, and his crew celebrated their victory inside the ring. Backstage, Gene Okerlund interviewed the FWW World Heavyweight Champion, Bret "The Hitman" Hart, who went on record by saying that he once had respect for Hogan. But, that all changed in the summer of 1996, when Hulk Hogan destroyed Hulkamania to become Hollywood Hogan, and form The NWO. Bret Hart tells Hogan that tonight, he will recieve a brutal payback that will be a long time coming from the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Then, we go back to the ring for the next match. The FWW World Tag Team Titles were on the line in our first of three title matches, here tonight, as The New Age Outlaws and The Horsemen made their entrances to the ring. Brian Pillman & Chris Benoit both handed their title belts to the referee, and the bell rang, starting this match. The two men starting out were Brian Pillman and Billy Gunn. They lock up, and Mr. Ass was able to get the strenght adavantage over Pillman, as clearly Gunn was the power man in this match. But, Pillman used his brains and technical wrestling ability to outsmart Mr. Ass, and take control of the match. As The Horsemen took control of the match, things started to go their way, until the DX "Enforcer", Chyna came down to the ring to be in the Outlaws' corner. She managed to distract Brian Pillman by tripping him from the outside. This incident brought out the REAL Enforcer, Arn Anderson, who had a tire iron in his hands, as he snuck up behind the 9th Wonder of the World, and whacked her in the back of the head, and she went down and out. Pillman tagged in Benoit, and Gunn tagged in the Road Dog, and Road Dog duked it out with Chris Benoit in the ring, as both combatants exchanged many impressive wrestling moves to try and win the match. But, one mistake was all it took for this match to be over. As Road Dog went for the punp handle slam, Benoit reversed it into the dreaded Crippler Crossface. There was nowhere for Road Dog to go, as Brian Pillman had Billy Gunn taken care of. Soon, the match was over, as Road Dog tapped out to the crossface. The Horsemen have retained the World Tag Team Championships, here at Ground Zero. The Champions left with Arn Anderson, as they held their titles as well as the symbol of excellence in the air as they left victorious. We now go to the NWO black & white studio where Hollywood Hogan & company are talking about tonight's main event for the World's Heavyweight Championship. Hogan says that tonight at FWW Ground Zero, Bret Hart will find out why Hollywood is the one and only true Icon in this great sport, and tonight, the FWW World Title will become the NWO World Title, because he is the true king of wrestling, bar none. Backstage, we see Raven & Rick Rude walking down seperate corridors to make their way towards the arena for their Intercontinental Title match. Soon afterwards, a video package is shown, documenting the events leading up to Raven vs. Rude for the gold. Both champion and challenger made their respective entrances to the ring. Raven came out alone, although his Nest was sitting at ringside in the front row in support of their leader. Rick Rude came out with his manager, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, as he will be in the corner of the champion. Rude hands his title over to the referee, and the match gets underway. Raven gets the early advantage, turning the match into a brawl by often taking the fight to the outside. Before the referee could count them out, Raven had Stevie Richards get on the mic, and announce that this match will be held under Raven's Rules, meaning no DQ, and falls count anywhere. This made The Brain go absolutely ballistic at ringside. But, to Rude's credit, he was able to take the fight straight to Raven, using a steel chair to bloody the former ECW Champion. Rude threw Raven back into the ring where he went for a pinfall attempt, but only got a two count. Rude put the match back into wrestling with several wear down hold, and kept up the punishment for a few minutes until Raven managed to fight back at the champion. But, as this went on, Raven's troops were suddenly ambushed in the audience by Andre The Giant, Haku, & Barbarian. The No DQ rule was all that Mr. Perfect needed to hit the ring with a steel chair and nail Raven in the back with it as Raven had Rude in position for the Evenflow DDT. This was what Rude needed to execute the infamous Rude Awakening neckbreaker, and score the pinfall victory as the ref counted, 1.........2............3! "Ravishing" Rick Rude retains the Intercontinental Championship, here tonight at Ground Zero. Rude celebrated with Perfect and The Brain, as The Heenan Family has once again layed waste to Raven's Nest, here tonight. It was now time for out main event of the evening. After a video package was shown, both Bret Hart and Hollywood Hogan made their respective entrances to the ring. Both the NWO and the Hart Foundation are in the building, ready to even up the odds whenever neccessary. As Bret handed his World Title to the referee, the bell rings, and the match is now on. Both Hart and Hogan began trading fists in the opening minutes of this World Title match. They soon take their fight on to the outside of the ring, but soon returned to the ring before the count of ten. Bret Hart was soon able to ground Hogan with his pure wrestling ability. With the crowd behind him, The Hitman continued to constantly outwrestle Hogan, until the challenger pulled the champion to the outside of the ring by pulling his singlet. Hogan then rammed Bret into the steel steps, and then threw Hart back into the ring, where he went for an early pinfall attempt, but only got a two count. Hogan was soon getting fustrated, as no matter how hard he tried, he still couldn't put Hart away. Soon, Eric Bischoff came down to ringside and tried to distract The Hitman. When he succeeded, however, Hart Foundation member, and the younger brother of the World Heavyweight Champion, Owen Hart came down to the ring, and knocked out Easy E with a right hand. As Hogan was distracted by all this, Bret Hart was able to take Hogan down, and slap the figure four on Hogan around the steel ringpost. Bret kept up the pressure as there was no disqualifications in this match. Several other members of the NWO tried to interferre, but they were thwarted by Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, who cut them off at the pass, while Bret Hart continued to work on Hollywood Hogan. After softening up the challenger, The Hitman finally slapped on the Sharpshooter on Hogan, and after struggling to get to the ropes, and failing, Hogan submitted to Bret Hart. The referee called for the bell and declared The Hitman victorious. Bret Hart has retained the World Heavyweight Championship, here tonight. The Hart Foundation celebrated inside the ring, as Gorilla Monsoon and Gordon Solie thank the fans for watching Ground Zero, as the pay per view came to a dramatic close. |
