Q-tips
-Hand your cockatiel a Q-tip and watch him or her destroy it.

Drinking straw toy
-Take a drinking straw, scrunch up one end so it is smaller, and insert it into the other end of the same straw. This should create a loop. Repeat with another straw, but make sure to loop it around the first. Create a chain of 4-5 straws.

Paper bags (lunch size)
-Open a paper bag and place it on the floor or a table. Let your bird enjoy his little destroyable cave. Add toys or other chewables inside.

Tissues
-Give your bird a tissue or small piece of paper towel and he or she will love tearing it apart.

Bed or hammock
-use twine to weave a little ‘nest?or hammock using the bars and perches.

Homemade toys from craft store supplies:
-Craft stores offer many interesting supplies that can be used to make affordable bird toys such as scrap pieces of leather, ribbon, wooden beads of all sizes and shapes, bells, plastic beads, and maybe even doll furniture. Make sure anything you buy is untreated.

Wading pool
-Provide a shallow dish of water for your bird to splash in.
