| Well its been a few weekends since the last update, and much has been accomplished, with more tasks being uncovered. After the Mardi Grai parade, we found Mike, who offered up near new BFG M/T 35 inches already mounted on rims for a tidy sum. This accounts for the new look of the tires. The scout is now red, ALL over (except the top) and <gasp> is registered with tags. We drove it out to the mechanic's shop, and had HIM cuss at the carburator and distributor for a while, finally he declared both were defective (hell we could have done that) and offered his opinion that an HEI distributor would be the way to go, "With some Weber carbs, can't go wrong there...." |

| We replaced the original doors, with some that didn't have quite so many problems with windows and door locks. An attempt at power brakes was made, however we are missing a key part, so we are still on manual steering and brakes. The brakes are livable (if a little mushy) but the steering is hazardous at road speeds. There is a bit of Bubba still in the wiring, the scout deciding when it wants to come on with the key, or not, and the battery having an overnight drain. The headlights, that used to work, don't now. But that doesn't matter. As you can see, it romps in the mud. It loves the mud SO much, it threw off the top. I remember seeing sky between windshield mount and the top, (WHOMP) then seeing the top BELOW the windshield mount (WHOMP). Damn thing nailed me on both sides of my head, and in the following days, down my back hurt as well as the concussion it hit me with. But it romps in the mud... and very well. |

| I worked on the winch, it is slow, but it works. I simply had to rewire the remote-controller and the switch box. We also added a console, since I have things to haul now (like the insurance and tag info) and replaced the back seat, so I can have riders. Still no passenger seat, I have to wait till I have a permanent gas tank, since the gas tank is in the spot where the passenger seat would be mounted. | ||||||||||||||||||

| A new list of things to work on is now emerging. The driver's front wheel is now braking. The gauges need to be hooked up. It needs the temp, oil, volt, speedo and other gauges. The carb needs adjusting so its better than 2 mpg. The top needs to be bolted down. The turn signals need to be wired. The rear bumper needs to be created. The front drive shaft must be created. A new floor must be cut and welded into the passengers side. Many, many more. | ||||||||||||||||||
