| FUTURAMA CUTS - SEASON 1 These are some of the cuts Channel 4 made to Futurama when it began. I hadn�t watched the show before it was on C4, therefore didn�t notice any cuts. But recently on Peel I discovered an old message thread with a bunch of very angry, humourless and helpful people, who listed some of the cuts. I�ve pieced the season 1 cuts together from that message thread, The Low-Bandwidth Futurama Site, and other sources that I can�t remember. The first thing it�s important to understand is that C4 strangely chose to show the first 13 episodes of Futurama all together, instead of the first 9 which are classed as �season 1� by the makers. So they showed the first 9, then 4 more, between September and December 2000. The pilot aired at 9.30pm on a Saturday, but after that episodes were on Thursday evenings at 5.30 or 6pm, and repeated on Sunday afternoons. Another thing I don�t think people on that thread understood was that 9pm is the UK television watershed, although 8pm has become a �minor� watershed � say, �12�-rated films can be shown then. But C4 moving Futurama from 5.30 to 6pm did not make the episode any less likely to suffer cuts! Silly person.
