This is the first 1964 Falcon Futura convertible my wife and I bought togetter, we got it from a Ford mechanic,  It had a 170cid six, Manual  Three on a Tree  non-syncro( Or worn syncro) transmission. It looks good in pictures but this car was in very sad conition.  The floor boards, cowl, front shock towers frame rails almost everthing under the car was welded with a stick welder, fiberglassed, Bondoed, and undercoated. Almost everytime we drove this car something would go wrong with it.  The Ford Mechanic  installed a electic  fuel pump under the hood instead of replacing the original pump when it went bad. and used over 3 feet of rubber hose to hook it up.  The rear axle bearing and seal must have  went bad and leaked all over the brakes  so he put a rear axle shaft , seal, brake drum and backing plate from a differnt car that  fit the housing , the original bearing must have melted down and some of it was welded to housing! The backing plate and Drum were 1" wide ( Ford Pinto maybe?)and the  one on the other side of the car was 2" .
CAR BUYING TIP: Look the car over everywhere, cowl, shock towers, under the carpet,  everwhere.  If it has thick under coating  or a dealership mechanic  owns it , DON'T BUY THE CAR! This car was a piece of #@it to put it nice.
