Chapter 26

She attempted to push him away but he held her wrists down and moved his face closer to hers.

"You broke your promise�� Oil spoke with a hint of anger in his voice.

Nook shrugged and answered, �No I didn�t.�

"Then what is he doing here huh?? Now look what happened� He raised his voice as he referred to Tao and pointed in the direction of the party.

"I simply promised I wouldn�t invite Tao�I can�t help who Aum invites�so technically I didn�t break any promises�� Nook said with an apathetic face.

"Alrite then,� Oil backed off a little bit, giving Nook some breathing space. Her heart was going a mile a minute�afraid of what Oil was capable of. �I�ll tell you this for sure�he may have your trust and everything else you decide�but I�m the one who has your body!�

Nook slapped him hard, with all the strength of the adrenaline that was rushing through her veins, �Doesn�t your disgusting mind think about anything else? What right do you have in my body anyways!?� She shrieked at him, �You did nothing but take advantage of the trust I put in you and ruined my life!� She was on the verge of tears but she was too angry.

"What right do I have??� Oil asked as he moved in closer, �The right that I�m your husband by law!�

He pushed Nook back up against the tree and began ravaging her. He kissed her everywhere, and held onto he body so that she wouldn�t escape from him.

"Stop! Let me go you jerk!� Nook kicked at him but he held her pressed against the tree and tugged at her dress. She bit him on the shoulder, but this time it didn�t work. She tried to free her arms so that she would be able to punch him using tae kwon do but hopelessly failed.

"Quit moving!� Oil was trying to get her dress off. The blood was flowing to his face, blocking any sense of reasonable judgment of where they were or if it was appropriate. All he was thinking about was making Nook his�

"Stop! Let go!� Nook screamed and jerked herself away from him. A part of her dress ripped off as a result�which only made Oil even happier.

"Don�t come any closer or I swear I will hurt you so bad you�ll feel it in your next lifetime!� Nook tried to run away from him, but he caught her by the waist and swung her back around.

"Not until I�ve taught you a lesson in playing with fire!� He attempted to rip off the rest of her dress but stopped short when she elbowed him in stomach.

"Ouch!� Oil let her go and as she tried to run again, reached out for her. But Nook was ready this time, she front-kicked him and punched him in the face. Oil fell to the ground and clutched his aching stomach.

Nook took this opportunity to take off in the other direction towards the back door of the house.

"Nook!� Oil called after her and wanted to run also, but the pain she afflicted on him was too much, �so this is what it�s like to be hurt by a black belt�� Oil lied on the ground to try and regain his energy.

Nook ran as fast as she could away from Oil, her shoes had come of in the process and she didn�t care what she was stepping on anymore�she needed to get as far away from him as possible before---

"Ouch!� Nook fell down own her butt, she ran into someone.

"So you�re finally here?� the person spoke, as she turned around, Nook could almost swear she saw that face before.

"Who are you?� Nook got up but two bodies came up from behind her and pinned her arms behind her back.

"What the heck is going on?!� Nook demanded an explanation from the woman, but all she received was a blood-curdling laugh. �Who are you?!� Nook screamed at the woman.

Upon Nook�s demand, the woman spun around with an evil look on her face. She paced up to Nook and cupped Nook�s chin.

"Aww�poor thing�don�t you remember me?� The woman pushed Nook�s face aside and cackled. �Too bad for you��

"What the heck do you want?? And what are you doing in my house anyway?� Nook lunged forward but was retained by the two other women who pulled arms back.

"We don�t want much trouble�� the woman said as she spun back around, �We�re just here to teach you a lesson in what�s yours and what belongs to other people�� Upon that, the woman began slapping Nook and throwing insults at her. Every time she tried to fight back, one of the other women would punch her sides.

"This isn�t happening!� Nook thought as she was being tortured.

"This is to teach you to not mess with Tanya�s stuff!� the woman screamed out before punching Nook in her stomach.

Nook fell to the ground, but upon mention of Tanya�s name, she knew that these were Tanya�s goons sent to do damage.

"Ha!� the three women laughed at Nook, �You�re just as pathetic as you were in kindergarten!� They cackled and the leader began pummeling Nook again.

"Kindergarten�� the word escaped from Nook�s mouth with a trail of blood. Suddenly a thought hit her and something clicked. Adrenaline rushed through her body as she emptied the tears clogging up years of memories.

"It was all a plan?� Nook sobbed bitterly, and with all her strength, she threw the two women off her and put to use her tae kwon do skills. After a few seconds, the two women laid limp on the ground. Nook then turned her attention to the leader.

"It was all a plan???� She shrieked at the women who was cowering in fear from the fire that burned in Nook�s soul. "Everything I believed in�the friendship I held so dear for so many years�was all a lie wasn�t it!�

"Nook, you don�t want to do this�� The woman stuttered and backed into a tree.

"She set everything up didn�t she?? Didn�t she?!� Nook took the woman�s dress by the collar and pulled it against her, "Answer me!� Nook yelled as tears came streaming down her face.

"Oh let it go�� an apathetic voice threw itself from out of the shadows, �You�re so gullible�that�s why I was able to trick you for so long�� a laughter followed.

"Tanya! You b**ch!� Nook screamed and let go the coward in her hands as she attempted to find Tanya. �You�re nothing but a coldhearted snake! Now everything makes perfect sense!�

Tanya finally revealed herself from the shadows and advanced towards Nook, �Finally woken up from your years of stupidity? I didn�t think you would ever do so�� Tanya chuckled and stood in front of Nook with her arms crossed.

"You were always on their side weren�t you! You paid them to pick on me in kindergarten so you would come in and pretend to save me to gain my trust! And I was so stupid�I trusted a snake!� Nook shrieked as she choked down tears of resentment and pent up anger.

"So after how many years you finally see the light?� Tanya let out a small laugh, �You were the perfect target�so gullible�or should I say so stupid!� She broke into a huge laughter.

"Why? Why did you do it?� Nook screamed at her.

"Why you ask?� She unfolded her arm and waved them around, �Because all this�everything here�doesn�t belong to you! It�s my dream�everything here is what I deserve�not someone like you!� She pointed her finger at Nook, �Besides, Oil�s just doing this to get back at me�you really think he could love someone like you after he�s had me?!� She insulted Nook.

Nook was ready to charge at Tanya with her arm raised.

"I DARE YOU TO HIT ME!� Tanya challenged Nook by putting her face out in front of Nook�s raised hand. Her face was mocking Nook.

Nook wanted so much to take out her anger on this person who ruined her life from the very moment they met. It took her so much courage to slowly lower her arm to her side.

"Hah! You don�t dare to hit me! Because you�re too cowardly to do so! You can never compare to someone like me�whether in life or in Oil�s eyes�all you�re good for is being stupid! Oh! and as for Tao, you can have him�but remember, everything Oil is doing, he�s doing it for me to come back to him!� Tanya felt she had won this round.

"No Tanya�it�s not that I don�t dare�because if I did you would be nothing more than a puddle of filth on the ground right now�but it�s because you�re not even worth the dirt under my feet�I feel I don�t need to sink down to your level. I want everything to end here�every lie, every memory, everything---you and me never existed, and never will. But me giving up today is just for my sake�if you bother me ever again�I swear I will not hesitate to give you what you deserve. And this isn�t a threat�it�s a promise!� Nook turned her back and walked back into the direction of the party.

"Oh yeah! If you think you�re so tough why don�t you turn around and hit me right now?� Tanya challenged Nook, but she was too far away.

"Ahhhhh!!!!� Tanya shrieked and kicked at the women. �Stupid good for nothings! You three couldn�t take on one little person! You�re stupid and worthless!!!� Tanya stomped away and drove off leaving screeching tire marks on the road.

"Nook!� Tao called out as he spotted her in the distance, he had been looking for her ever since he saw Tanya and her gang head off in the direction Oil pulled to her. As he ran up to her, she collapsed in his arms. �Nook? Nook? What happened to you?� He looked at the condition she was in, and felt sorry for her. �Who did this to you? Nook tell me!� He was angry at whoever did this to her, whether it be Oil or Tanya, Nook did not deserve to be treated this way.

Nook couldn�t do anything but sob. She couldn�t believe she dedicated her life to protecting a friendship that was nothing but lies and deceit. She buried her face in Tao�s shirt, soaking it with the salty taste of tears.

Tao cupped her face in his hands and held his face up to hers.

"Nook�� he spoke gently, �I�ve been wanting to say this for a while now��

"Nook!� Oil bellowed, �Where are you?!� He followed the sound of footsteps until they stopped. She couldn�t have gone far. �Nook answer me!�

Suddenly, he spotted two figures near the rear of the house. He ran as fast as he could to the spot, �Oh god please let her be okay�� Oil worried about her.

When he got closer, he saw Nook wrapped in Tao�s embrace�willingly! He dashed up to them, but before he got a chance to say anything, Tao beat him to it.

"Nook�I LOVE YOU!� Tao spilled his heart to her.

Both Nook and Oil felt the shock that those three words vibrated through their hearts.

"I�� Nook looked up at the sincere facing gazing down upon her, �I��

"TAO!� Oil rushed up to the both of them, ready to kill the man who dared utter those three words to someone he felt was his!

Tao and Nook looked up to see Oil dashing towards them�
