Chapter 2

"Should I take your order? Wait., Sunisa responds and walks back into the store. After a few seconds, Nam comes out.

"What would you like Sawis? Nam asks, holding a notepad.

"Wheres the other girl? replies Sawis. Whos her?

"Why do you want to know? Arent you Mays boy? asks Nam.

"Suresure..sure. Ill get fried chicken with fried rice, tea, and a sundae, Sawis ordered.

"Whats your name? asks May, scanning Sunisa.

"Hi! My names Sunisa. I just moved in, explains Sunisa with a smile.

"Surewhateverso whats your job? May asks with a conceited face.

"OhummmIm just planning to help your sister here in her store, Sunisa answers with a not-so-sure expression.

"Are you sure? You wont earn much? May replies. You wanna join me?

"No thanks, Sunisa quickly answers as Nam walks in.

"Sunisa, could you get a cup of tea on a tray and then bring it over to me? asks Nam.

"Yeah, Sunisa responds, going to the refrigerator.

"Okayeverything should be right. Take this to table A, Nam informs. Sunisa carefully walks out the door to table A and sets the tray down in front of the customer without taking a look at the customer.

"Take a look and see if anythings missing, but Im positive this is all you ordered, Sunisa says, lifting her head. After seeing who the customer was, her face changes to a cold look. She starts walking back without giving Sawis a chance to reply.

"Miss, the tea doesnt taste like tea. Are you sure it hasnt expired? asks Sawis, making Sunisa stop.

"Ill go bring you a new one, replies Sunisa, not wanting to get into an argument. A few minutes later, Sunisa comes out with a new cup of tea. She hands it over to Sawis.

"Wait! I want you to taste it first and see if its really tea, Sawis replies with a conceited smile.

"But are you going to ask me for a new cup of tea? I dont want to waste Nams tea, Sunisa responds seriously.

"No, Sawis answers. Sunisa takes a sip of the tea and realizes that Sawis has fooled her.

"Its tea alright! Here you go.., Sunisa assures and hands over the tea to Sawis. He takes the tea and takes a sip.

Ahh! This time it is tea and its sweeter than beforecause someones sugary lips has just added extra sugar, Sawis responds giving Sunisa the cute face. It would be sweeter if I could taste the lips. Sunisa slams her fist into the table making the food shake along with the table and gets Sawiss attention.

"Listen you jerkI've told you before...I'm not one of them and you can't make me!, Sunisa says in front of Sawiss face. Out of anger, Sawis holds Sunisas face and was about to force a kiss, but she was fast and grabs the cup of tea and pours it on Sawis, stopping him. Sunisa then walks bravely back inside. At the sight of Sunisas face, May rushes outside.

"What happened out here? What did you do? May asks with curiosity.

"Babe, I did nothing okay. Dont you trust me, your own sweetie? Sawis replies with a convincing voice.

"Of course I trust you, May answers, kissing Sawis. Just then, Sunisa walks out and hands Sawis his receipt with this sundae.

"Babe, wanna have some? Sawis asks May as he scoops up a spoon of the ice cream. Getting discussed of their actions, Sunisa walks back inside.

"Thats how they areyoull just have to get use to it, Nam says after seeing Sunisas facial expression.

Several weeks pass by and the thought of Sunisas father still remains in her head. She wants to know how her fathers doing but she was also afraid of seeing him and his beatings. After thinking about it many times, she decides that its best if she doesnt go. It seems like Sawis comes over more often now and Nam is also not usually home. Sunisa is mostly in charge of the store and feels uncomfortable around Sawis.

One night, Sunisa arrives home from the market and finds that no one was home. Seeing that Sawis was drunk and sitting outside, Sunisa quietly opens the door, not wanting to wake up Sawis because she has a bad gut feeling. As she was about to close the door, Sawis puts his hands in between the door and Sunisa slams the door close on his hands. He screams in pain and Sunisa reopens the door to push out his hands, but it didnt go as she thinks.

"Let me come in May, Sawis pleas in a drunken tone.

"Im not May. You have to leave Sawis! Sunisa shouted, hoping to wake up Sawis.

"No! Please just one more night, Sawis replies which frightens Sunisa. Sunisa continues to push Sawis from the door so that she can close it but it got harder with just one hand while her other hand is holding the grocery bag. Suddenly with the blink of an eye, Sawis has made his way inside and leans on the wall.

"Get out or Ill call the cops! Sunisa warns Sawis manly.

"Youre right? Sawis responds with eyes that hardly can open. Instantly, knocks came from the door and Sunisa turns to open the door. Two muscular guards appear in front of her eyes.

"Miss, come with us, one of the guards demands.

"What do you want? asks Sunisa curiously, a little frighten. Sawis was now behind Sunisa.

"Hey! What do you want with her? Deal with someone your own size would ya? Sawis replies with his drunken voice.

"Dont put your nose in others business! the other guard adds.

"You think Im not tough enough to handle it? Are you a coward or what? Sawis responds conceitedly.

"Stop, Sawis! Its not your stuff, Sunisa pauses for a few seconds; "Ill go."

"What are you doing? How would I explain it to Nam when she gets back? Sawis asks, grabbing Sunisas right arm.

"Say whatever you wantIll explain it to her when I get back, Sunisa answers smartly.

"OhhhhIt doesnt seem like youll ever return Miss, one of the guards replies with a deep smile somewhat creepy.

"Really? Ill see about that, Sunisa responds bravely. As the guards and Sunisa walk away into the distance and enter a black limo, Sawiss heart races and it was the first time hes notice it.

When they finally reach the gigantic building of Golden Eagle Casino, Sunisa walks rapidly in with the guards behind. She enters the office interrupting the meeting. Everyone stares at her with her flaming eyes and steaming face about to explode.

"Whos in charge here?! Sunisa asks out of anger.

"Mewho are you to interrupt my meeting? a voice answers from behind her.

"You interrupt my life; I interrupt your meeting. This makes us equal. Whats your emergency to bring me here? I see we have not met or know each other before, Sunisa replies confidently.

"Youre right. Theres business need to be dealt with between you and me. Well talk about it in my office later. I apologize for the interruption, but we maycontinue on, the, somewhat old, man explains. With the motion of his fingers, the guards grab Sunisa by her arms and pull her out of the room without hesitation. When they arrive at the mans personal office, the guards let go of Sunisa and stand by the door, making sure she wouldnt leave. Sunisa looks around the room and notices that the man has a family and only one son because there were several portraits of the same people. After about an hour, the old man enters the office and motions for the guards to leave.

"What is this youre doing? Im not the kind of girl youre thinking! Sunisa yells as loud as she could.

"Calm down. It was hard work trying to locate you, Miss Jett. I want you to look at these papers that your father has signed the other day when his debts were due and he obviously has no money to pay it, the man replies, handing Sunisa a green folder. After reading the paper, Sunisa could not speak and was upset.

"NO! No way! You may have mistaken Mr.Suthikamol. A father wouldnt do this to his own child! Un-unI dont believe you, Sunisa answers in disbelief.

"Im 100% sure, Miss Jett. Everything on there has been witnessed and done. Theres nothing you can do about it now except do as I say and youll be fine, Mr. Suthikamol responds seriously. Realizing that it was really her father after all the hard beatings, he must have wanted to get rid of Sunisa from the day she was born. She feels as if a deep cut has just been made inside of her, but she doesnt know where; she could only sense the stretched pain.

"Alright then.what do you want me to do? Sunisa asks lifeless.

"To be sure that I can rely on you, youll be living with us and your task starts tomorrow, Mr. Suthikamol replies satisfied.

What about my belongings? Cant I get them or I have to go empty handed like a beggar? Sunisa asks.

Ill take you there before we go to my house, Mr. Suthikamol responds nicely.

"When? Sunisa asks in a hurry.

"Now, Mr. Suthikamol replies, lifting his small briefcase that holds his important papers. As Sunisa steps out of the room, she feels like her soul was trap inside the room; she feels like a puppet in control.

After long hours of sitting in the car, they finally arrive at the small store. Sunisa steps out of the car and hurries inside the store to pack her belongings; she has heard that wealthy people hated waiting especially for someone meaningless. When she enters the store, Nam was at the table with the phone in her hand and tears in her eyes. She looks up at Sunisa and a cry comes out.

"Sunisa! Where have you been? I was looking for you? I was scared and shocked when Sawis told me what happenedare you alright? Nam choked out. Sunisa grabs a napkin and hands it to Nam.

"Of course Im alright. You know nothing can happen to your little girl! Nothing can get better than thisIm leaving to live with myuncle. So I came back to get my thingsand Ill be on my way, Sunisa explains joyously, not wanting Nam to feel the difference.

"Really? Its so nice of him, but can you not go and stay here with me? Nam asks as she wipes her tears.

"Nomy father wants me to goand I dont want my father to worry too much about me either soIll come and visit you sometimes, Sunisa responds with a fake smile.

"But Ill miss you., Nam replies as tears stroll down her rosy cheeks again. Ill ask him myself if I have to.

"You dont have to do thatbesidesI agree to go. Dont cry Namits not like Im moving out of the countryjust to a different houseyou can come and visit me sometimes too, Sunisa replies as big tears fill her eyes. "Im going to miss you too. After sitting there together without any more words to say, Sunisa goes and packs her things. Bye Nam. Tell your sisters I say bye and wont bother them again especially, Sunisas sentence drifts off into the air.

"Ill see you sometimes in the future, Nam yells out, waving at Sunisa.

"Promise me that you wont work yourself to death! Sunisa shouts back as she gets into the limo and drives off into the night.

"So what position do I take in your house? Sunisa wonders.

"Youll be working for me as I said, but your main goal is to follow my son and report everything that he does to me. Youll take the position of a servant but somewhat better, Mr. Suthikamol explains.

"What? You want me to be his toy or something? Sunisa asks, heating up.

"No! Only his servant and thats only how close you two can be to each othernothing else. You seemy wife wont be home too often nowso no one will be looking over himthats why I want you to do that, Mr. Suthikamol replies strictly.
