Chapter 26 --- Another Time Around

The first thing Kat did when she woke up at Tik�s place was go visit Hugo, who�d saved her life on her own wedding day.

Hugo was out from the emergency room and was resting in a private room.

Kat was glad Hugo was safe; she dragged Tik along with her. Noi and Ken met up with them there.

"Tik, you know what the police just told me when I went to check up on Benz at the mental hospital?� Ken had found out some shocking news.

"What about that woman, she is psycho!� Tik replied.

"After the incident last night, when Khun Benz said �if i can kill my own husband, I can kill Khun Kat�, well, the police went back to that accident case and did a check up. Khun Benz hired someone to cut the breaks on her husband�s car, so he could have an accident. She knew he wrote his will and she wanted that!� Ken explained.

"You are kidding me, right Ken?� Kat was stunned.

"Nope, he is not,� Noi answered and continued for Ken, �Guess what else we found out? Benz has been cheating on her husband with the guy she hired to cut the breaks in her husband�s car. She has been poisoning her husband with sleeping pills at night, so she did not have to sleep with him.�

"That is crazy!� Tik couldn�t believe what he was hearing.

"Crazy is right! She is in the metal hospital for that!� Ken finished.

After the hospital visit, Kat and Tik split up from Noi and Ken. Noi and Ken did their own thing while Tik and Kat went back home to his place.

"Khun Tik, are my parents going back to America tomorrow?� Kat asked politely as she was getting out of the car.

"I think so, that is what they told me. And could you please not call me Khun Tik; call me P�Tik, or Honey, or sweetie, or babe. Call me something that makes us closer, not so professional, when we are together,� he was complaining while at the same time opening the door to the house.

"I want to go to America with my parents,� Kat said bluntly.

Tik stopped walking and turned around to look at her.

Kat continued on, �I want to go back to America because I haven�t been back for awhile. I am on my break from school, so I was thinking it is a good time to go back and get away from here for a while. Ever since I came here, there have been so many things that have come into my life. I still don�t feel like we are married yet or ��

Tik went up to Kat and hugged her. �Shhh� don�t say anymore. I know you need a vacation, even though we just had one together. But going back to America might be good for us!�

"Huh? � U�s...us??�

"Don�t think you will get away from me, dear! I want to go to America too; I want to show you something. I�ve wanted to show it to you for a while now. I think this would be a great time.� Tik pulled her away from him so he could look at her reaction.

"I know we are married. I am not going to leave you or anything. I think everything is over. Hugo is alive and in good condition. He also really loves his wife. As for your OLD LOVER, she is happy where she is. It seems like it will help her cure herself!� Kat explained her reason for going to America.

"I know everything is O.K now. But I feel like you are not O.K. I feel like you are not happy and are just confused. Tell me, we can work something out. honey!� Tik pleaded softly while holding her hands.

"I feel like this is too good to be true, that�s all.� Kat and Tik were walking up to their bedroom.

"Kat, honey, take the time to enjoy it. Don�t waste your time doubting it. Like me, I am enjoying every moment with you and hope it will never end!� Tik said happily.

Tik and Kat were in front of their bedroom. Kat was ready to open the door, but Tik held her back.

"Why are you stopping me, dear?�

"Last night, we were both so tired, I didn�t even carry my wife into our room.� Tik bent down and picked up Kat and kicked the door open. Both Kat and Tik were laughing and kissing until he placed her on the bed.

"Tik, dear, thank you for everything. You gave me both sadness and happiness. Because of you, I know what love is and who I love,� Kat admitting her feelings.

"Sweetie, I love you too!� Tik was happy hearing those words from Kat.

He was so happy he thought it was a dream, so he carried her into the bathroom with him and showered them with cold water. "Tik, dear, what are you doing?�

"Ahh� I guess this is not a dream for me. I guess I finally won your heart!� said Tik and then kissed Kat in the bathroom with the cold water on.

---In America---

Kat parents and friends went their own ways after the airport. As for Kat and Tik, they both were going back to his condo.

Kat wanted to go home with her parents, but Tik wanted her to stay with him. He wanted to show her something.

"Tik, dear, it is getting late, where are we going? This is not the way to go to your condo,� Kat was questioning him.

"Relax honey, trust me. We are almost there, close your eyes,� Tik said calmly and put a rag around Kat�s eyes so she wouldn�t spoil her own surprise.

Tik helped Kat out of the car and walked her to her surprise. He slowly untied the rag so she could see.

When Kat got the chance to see her surprise, she was shocked.

"Surprise!!! How you like it, honey?� Tik said it with a big smile. �Sorry you cannot see it because it is getting dark.�

Kat was speechless. It was her dream house. She never thought she would ever get a chance to have a dream house of her own.

"How�Where??..Umm..When??� Kat didn�t know what to say, she was still surprised.

"Come in the house, honey, it is all fixed and decorated. You should go see our master bedroom. For now on, we will stay here together when we come to America!� Tik couldn�t stop looking at her and her reaction.

Kat�s joyful tears were falling. She looked at Tik and at how much he�d given her. She walked up to him and kissed him on the lips. She slowly pulled her lips back and looked at him in the eyes. He was surprised that she�d kissed him. Usually, he would be the one to do so. She then pulled his hands to go into their new house. Kat ran up and down the stairs. She then ran outside. The backyard was filled with different types of flowers and different colored roses.

"Tik, dear, this is so beautiful. How did you know I always wanted a house with flowers and� when did you get it� and� the decoration is beautiful, who did it? And--" Kat was so excited and still surprised. She had nothing but questions for Tik.

"Kat, sweetie, we are both tired from the long plane flight. Let�s rest up for tonight, and I will answer all your questions first thing tomorrow morning!� Tik was pulling Kat to their bedroom, so they could rest.

"Don�t you have to work tomorrow, honey?� questioned Kat.

"Nope! We are newlyweds. I want to take the time off for our honeymoon!� said Tik, kissing Kat.

"Oh, speaking of which, I think you have something to do tomorrow. Your mother said something about an interview tomorrow morning,� Tik reminded Kat.

"What interview? I don�t know anything about it. I just came to America and I have an interview already? I don�t even know what for? I think I should call mother right now.� Kat was confused about why she had an interview and she did not know.

"Honey, I think you should call your parents tomorrow morning. Don�t you think it is too late to call them at this time and hour? Just set your alarm clock early.�

"I think I should call them now. I don�t know what interview!� Kat was still confused.

"I don�t think you should call, honey. It was something about Auntie Vicky and an interview in San Francisco, � answered Tik.

"Ummm�Ok, I guess I will set the alarm clock,� Kat finally listened.

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*

"Wake up, Wake up Kat!!! Turn off your alarm clock and wake up!!!�

"Damn this alarm clock. It is so annoying! I don�t want to wake up!� Kat was still sleepy and did not want to get up.

"You have to get up, or else you will be late for your interview!�

"I don�t want to go to any interview! It is too early in the morning, honey,� said Kat with a grumpy tone of voice.

"Honey??? Who are you calling Honey??�

"What?� Kat opened her eyes and her eyes popped out. �MOM?? What are you doing here?� She then looked around the room where she was sleeping.

"Are you OK, Kat?� asked her mom.

"Mom, where am I? Am I married, where is my husband?� Kat questioned her mom.

"Wow, you married? Hahahaahaha�I will be damned if someone really wanted to marry you! You are at home and you will be late for your interview at your Auntie Vicky�s workplace if you don�t get dressed right now!� Her mom was laughing at her as she was walking out of Kat�s bedroom.

"What the hell, all of that was a dream? Dammit!!! I knew it was too good to be true!!! Dammit!!! I don�t want to get up!!!� Kat wished she could have stayed in bed a little longer to say good-bye to her dream husband. But a dream like that would never happen again!

Kat rushed out of bed right after her fantasy dream. She had to look decent, like she was 21 years old. Many people had mistaken her to be younger than she looks. But as for today, she decided to dress up, and with only a slight touch of make up, she looked very professional.

Kat took the BART to go to San Francisco to beat the morning traffic. Once she got to the city and to her aunt�s work building, she was running so fast it sounded like she was hyperventilating while she was waiting for the elevator.

Kat didn�t realize that someone was standing next to her, staring at her and how hard she was breathing. She turned to her side and gave the person next to her a friendly smile. She quickly observed him; he was young and handsome, dressed up like a professional businessman. He was not dark but not too light skin, just perfect with a clean haircut. He gave her a friendly smile back. As she was waiting for the elevator, her cell phone went off.

After she hung up the phone with her Auntie, she realized that the person who was standing next to her was in her dream.

She took another good look at him then turned her head the opposite direction and said to herself �deja vu�.

The elevator came and only she and the handsome person walked into the elevator together. Kat had a big smile walking into the elevator because she realized that this time around, it is not a dream. The person next to her is the man of her dreams!
