Chapter 25 --- I Do

As Kat was walking down the aisle in her white wedding dress, Tik couldn�t take his eyes off her.

Both Tik and Kat were already tired from the morning ceremony. Kat was in a traditional Thai outfit for the water engagement ceremony at Tik�s parents� house. During the evening, she was in her white wedding dress at a big hotel so there would be room for all the guests.

Kat couldn�t believe she was having a day like this. As she was walking, she saw everybody she knew who was supporting her and there for her special day.

She saw her parents smiling happily with Auntie Vicky, her husband Mike, and their daughter. She also saw her 2 brothers; next to them were her close friends from America and even Marie with her husband Marco. She even saw Hugo and his wife Anna in the audience.

Tik�s best man was Ken, and Kat�s maid of honor was Noi.

Kat was holding her joyful tears back because she did not want to ruin her make up, and also she wanted to save it for later.

She had almost reached Tik when she heard a gun shot. Everybody heard the shot and ducked down.

Benz ran up to Kat, put her arms around Kat�s neck, and pointed the gun right at her head.

"Don�t you dare try to stop me, Tik! Don�t anybody come any closer to us, or else I will blow her brains out!� said Benz with an evil laugh.

"Benz, calm down. You don�t want to do this. We can talk things through, please don�t do this.� Tik begged her to compromise.

"Why, Tik darling. You want to compromise now, don�t you? I tried so hard to get you back, but you didn�t even look at me. Not even once!� She looked around and saw people trying to get closer to them. �Don�t you people dare try anything stupid because I can blow her head off, and then I can blow mine. We can both die, and poor Tik can be depressed for the rest of his life!!! Hahahahahah�.hahaahahhaha�� Benz looked like she was psycho.

"Benz, you do not want to kill yourself. We can talk about this� said Kat, thinking of a way to escape from Benz and the gun pointed at her head.

"Shut up, you little B%$@H! You are the reason why things did not work out for me and Tik! You don�t want to die because you want to be happy with him and his money, huh?! If I cannot have him, what makes you think you can have him?!!� Benz snapped at Kat.

"Ok, Benz. What do you want?? Please don�t hurt Kat, she doesn�t know anything.� Tik was trying to get closer and trying to explain.

"Don�t you dare come any closer, Tik!� Benz was pulling Kat up on stage so she could use the microphone to talk to all the audience.

Kat�s parents were panicking, just like the rest of the people who were in there. Noi was trying to sneak up behind Benz to help Kat, but Ken stopped her.

"Don�t do it, Noi. The gun is pointed right at Khun Kat�s head. We don�t want to risk it. I know Kat will try to get loose when she gets the chance to,� Ken was warning Noi not to do anything.

"But this is sick! I can�t stand still,� Noi was getting angry and was scared for Kat.

"Come up here, Tik. Don�t you want to save your future wife?!� Benz said demandingly.

Tik went up to the stage but had to stand opposite of Benz and Kat. Benz picked up the microphone and started to express her anger.

"Listen, you people! See this girl?! She stole Tik from me. All she wants is his money, she doesn�t love him! He doesn�t love her either. He still LOVES ME!!!� Benz was still full of herself. �Tik, if I cannot have you, what makes you think someone like this girl can have you? Yes, I�ve made mistakes in my life and losing you was one of them. But you didn�t even give me a chance to fix that mistake. Instead, you wanted to make me jealous with this girl here. Stop moving, you little tramp!� Benz looked like she could kill anybody at any minute.

"Benz, the past is the past. We are over, and we can both start a new life with someone else now. Don�t do this.� Tik was trying to talk and walk closer.

"Don�t walk here, Tik! I will blow her brains out!!!� Benz threatened and continued, �Tik, I know you still love me! Even though it is the past, I know you still want me, but this girl tricked you into falling for her. I know you don�t love her. I want you to tell everybody in here that you love me and not her. Go on, tell everybody! Tell them on the microphone that you only love me and was only using this girl to get me back.� Benz was tightening her arm around Kat�s neck so she could make a little whimper for Tik to hear.

"You hear that, Tik? You better do it or else I will hurt her more and shoot her.�

Tik was hesitant to go in front of the microphone and announce something that was not true.

"Ummm�I�I�.,� Tik turned around to face Benz. �I can�t do this. It is not true.�

"Shup up, Tik! You have to choose. Do what I tell you to do or else you will lose this toy of yours,� Benz was getting mad.

"Tell them, Tik, that you love me and only me, and you don�t care about this little girl, and that you are only using her to get me back. Tell them� Tik, tell them!!!� demanded Benz.

Tik looked at Kat and turned to the microphone so he could do as Benz demanded. He was doing it for Kat�s sake. �I�I� Love Benz� I only used Kat to get Benz back.� Tik finished and turned around to look at them.

"Tell them more, Tik, dammit! Why stop there?� Benz was laughing joyfully.

Tik had a plan and tried to make eye contact with Kat, who was tearing up because of his words.

"Benz, I want you to stand next to me, so I can tell everybody how I feel about you. I want to hold your hands when I express my feelings and want to kiss you and want you to be next to me,� Tik said to Benz in a sweet, caring voice.

"Really, Tik? You really mean that?� Benz was excited to see Tik sound so caring.

As Benz was walking towards Tik, she slipped on Kat�s dress and got off balance. Benz was about to fall, so she took the gun away from Kat�s head.

Kat took the opportunity to kick Benz on the stomach and kick the hand that was holding the gun, so the gun could fall to the ground. Kat was holding her long white dress with both of her hands but used her legs and feet to do the work.

"Don�t you dare try to steal my husband, you witch!� Kat said with anger. The words Tik had said earlier into the microphone about only using her were in her head.

Even though Kat knew it wasn�t true, and that he was forced to say it in front of the audience, it made her even angrier. And what really pissed Kat off was the fact that Benz had just ruined her wedding.

Benz got up and was ready to attack, but Noi got up on stage to hold Benz back down. Kat was ready to kick Benz for holding her neck so tight, but Tik was holding Kat back and took her off stage to cool her down, letting other people take care of Benz.

As Kat was still kicking and struggling to beat the crap out of Benz, Tik was surprised by Kat and her actions. �Kat, calm down. What kind of lady are you? You are supposed to be scared after an incident like that, not wanting to continue on.�

Kat was complaining with irritation, �I want to show her what she�s really capable of when she doesn�t have a weapon on her! She can�t be strong and force people to do what she wants! And she ruined my wedding day! Oh, hell no! I will show her not to mess with me!!� Kat was really mad and didn�t care who or what was around her.

As for Noi, she was punching and kicking Benz for just being a B%$#! But Ken was holding Noi back because she was getting out of control, and Benz was already whooped badly.

Once the police had arrived at the hotel, they tried to talk to Benz about her problems in one corner of the hotel. They did not arrest her yet, because she was badly injured by Kat and Noi. In the other corner was Kat�s family and friends; they were trying to talk to Kat and Tik and hoping that she was not hurt.

Kat was ready to walk out of the hotel to go into a room to rest; at the same time, Benz was getting escorted out to the police station.

Benz saw Kat and just wanted to do something to her before she would be put into the mental hospital. Benz ran to the cop next to her, took his gun, and aimed it at Kat.

Once Benz pulled the trigger, everybody turned towards Kat. Kat turned around to see where the shot came from; she was too late to realize that the bullet was heading right towards her.

Tik heard it and screamed �NOOOOOOOOOOOO� and was running towards Kat. But it was too late; someone else had already gotten in front of Kat in time.

The police stopped Benz and arrested her. They took her outside and took her to the mental hospital as she was screaming and kicking. �NOOOO!! Don�t touch me, you B#$@H! Let me go, I am not crazy!!! If I can kill my own husband, I can kill her too!!! Let me GO!! Damn you!! Arrrrrg�.AH�.don�t touch me!!!�

Kat looked down at the person who had taken the bullet for her -- Hugo. �HUGO!!!!� Tears were falling from Kat�s eyes. And seconds after Kat, another voice screamed out �NOOOOOOOOOOO�NOoooo� Not HUGO�NOOOOOO, someone call the ambulance!! Someone, hurry!!!!� Anna was crying and pushing her way towards her husband, landing on her knees, hugging him.

Everybody surrounded Hugo as they waited for the ambulance. Both Anna and Kat were on their knees trying to keep Hugo awake so he could wait for the ambulance.

"K..a..t,� Hugo said with a soft and painful voice. He grabbed her hand and placed it on his chest and continued to say caringly, �I�m sorry, Kat. Please forgive me for my lies and my mistake of listening to Benz and her plans. I never meant to hurt you. I would rather have you as a friend than nothing at all. Say you forgive me, please� p...l...e--"

"Don�t talk anymore. I forgive you, Hugo. We were friends from the start, and we will be friends �til the end. I was never mad at you. Don�t worry, Hugo� stay strong, help is coming� please, stay strong,� Kat said sadly and couldn�t stop her tears from falling.

Hugo then turned to face his wife and grabbed her hand with his other hand. �Anna, please forgive me. I know I was never good to you or was a good husband. I am happy that you care so much for me and that no matter what I did, you were there for me. I want to tell you that I Love You!!! I am sorry if I cannot repay you for your kindness. Maybe in another lifetime��

Hugo was beginning to fall asleep and couldn�t finish his last line.

"Hugo, the ambulance is here! Hugo, honey, I don�t want you to repay me next in the life! I want you to pay me back in THIS lifetime!!! You hear me, Hugo dear, Hugo�� Anna was hugging and crying on her husband who was lying on the floor.

The ambulance came and took Hugo and Anna to the nearest hospital. Kat wanted to go also, but no one let her go. They wanted her to rest and take care of other things while Hugo was in the emergency room.

Kat couldn�t stop crying. She didn�t know what to do anymore. The wedding was ruined; Hugo was injured because of Benz. Kat didn�t have any more energy to do or think anything. All she wanted to do was to be left alone.

Kat got up from her chair where Tik had told her to sit and rest. She walked out the door, because she did not want to stay in the room where she had almost died.

"Kat� Kat� Hey, where are you going?� Tik was running out after her. He saw her get up off the chair and start to walk out of the room.

"Kat, stop walking and listen to me. Hey, I told you before not to ignore me!� Tik reached out for her shoulder and stopped her from walking. He then turned her around to face him.

"Kat, what�s wrong? Are you O. K? I know nothing good came out of tonight. I think we should just rest, so we can visit Hugo tomorrow. Can you wait until tomorrow to visit him?� Tik asked patiently.

Kat looked Tik in the eye, �Khun Tik, I� I� I don�t think we are meant to be.� Tears were falling as Kat continued, �I can�t handle this. I do love you, but if you were Hugo who got hurt, I couldn�t handle that. I think it is best if we not marry!�

Tik was shocked. �Kat, please don�t say that. Oh, please don�t say that! I know we�ve been through a lot tonight, don�t say anything yet. Please, Kat. Let�s go home and rest.�

"No, I will go back to my apartment to rest,� Kat rejected his offer.

"Sorry, Kat. You don�t have an apartment anymore. You are coming home with me. Your parents and friends will stay at my parents� house. They have plenty of room.� Tik didn�t care if Kat rejected him or not.

"No, I am going somewhere where I can be alone. Let me go, Khun Tik.� Kat didn�t feel like being bothered, not even by Tik. She pulled her arm back and turned around and started to walk towards the exit.

"Kat� come back here� Kat�� Tik walked behind her and grabbed her. �Kat, you look tired; don�t try to be so stubborn!�

Kat was really tired and really didn�t have the energy to argue anymore. They both rested at Tik�s place until morning time.
