Chapter 19 --- Miscommunication

"Hu�go� umm� what are you doing here??� Kat asked with a shock.

"Hey Kat, I just thought I�d drop by and say hi to you. I figured you worked here. I wanted to ask you out for lunch and catch up,� Hugo said nicely, ignoring what he�d just seen.

Tik said persistently, �As you can see, Kat is busy today. I don�t think she will have time for lunch.�

"Umm�Hugo, I don�t feel so well right now. I was about to go home and rest,� Kat explained.

"Oh, Kat are you O.K??? I have a car. I can take you home. It would be a good time for me to get to know where you are staying,� Hugo offered.

"I can take her home. Thank you for offering, Hugo,� Tik answered for Kat and continued to question Hugo. �Where is Khun Anna? I don�t see her anywhere? Did she let you free or did you escape because you inherited your father�s money and didn�t need to use her anymore?� Tik asked bluntly.

"Actually, she is in a meeting, and I thought I would catch up with Kat,� Hugo answered facing Kat and continued. �Kat, I will catch you next time. It seems like a Dog here doesn�t want to let go of his bone, or should I say, what he claims to be his bone. Anyways, here are flowers for you, and I guess I�ll have to snatch the bone next time,� said Hugo calmly but was burning inside as he was walking out. He did not look back but heard Tik�s last comment.

"A cat should never touch a Dog�s bone, or else the cat will get bitten by the Dog!� Tik said arrogantly.

Hugo walked out, and Kat was about to walk out after him. �Khun Tik, I will make up my hours later, but for today, I will take a day off and rest. And next time, don�t answer anything for me! If I want a ride with Hugo, that�s my problem, not yours!�

"Wait Kat, I will take you home.�

"No, don�t. I don�t need to take favors from you anymore for today or ever again!� Kat looked Tik in the eyes, very angry with his actions.

But he had the same attitude as always. He didn�t care. �Next time I have a chance with you again one-on-one, let�s see if you will still be talking to me like this,� he smiled and walked her out, ready to drive her home.

As they were walking out of the office, they bumped into Ken. �Oh, Khun Tik, I was looking for you. I wanted to remind you about your meeting today. Make sure to go to your meeting. Wahhhh, good thing I don�t own this company. I don�t have as many meetings as you,� Ken said blissfully.

Kat took the chance to ask Ken to drive her home. �Khun Ken, are you available to take me home since Khun Tik just got a meeting to go to?�

"Sure Khun Kat, I have time. I also have some questions to ask you about last night. I don�t have to go to the meeting, only Khun Tik. That�s because he is the big man in this company!� Ken said jokingly and looking at Tik.

But Tik was not looking happy at all. Ken had a big smile on his face, but once he looked at Tik, that smile turned into a straight face.

"Ken, hurry and take her home, but come back here. I�m starting to think I trust the Taxi more than I trust you right now,� Tik said seriously

"Come on Khun Tik, what is wrong with you? It�s me, Ken. Anyways, you better run to your meeting or you will be late. Remember your rules: no one should be late to a meeting, not even you,� Ken reminded Tik of his own rules.

"Shut up, Ken. I think I know that� Tik said to Ken, then faced Kat. �I�ll talk to you later, but I hope you get your rest for tonight, because you will need a lot of energy tomorrow. What you faced today is nothing!� Tik warned Kat.

Kat was confused by what he meant she�d faced today. Was it Benz or was it Tik himself? But once Tik finished with what he was saying, he walked out and didn�t wait to listen to what Kat had to say back to him. Kat knew what she had to do. The only way for her to get away from dramas like what she�d faced today is to avoid those people creating drama.

"Thanks for taking me to school to see Noi. I tried to call her to tell her I wasn�t going to come to class and hoped she could get the class materials and notes for me,� Kat said thankfully.

"Oh, speaking of Noi, do you know if she is seeing someone?� Ken was curious.

"Huh? Seeing someone? What do you mean by seeing someone? Umm� She is seeing me in a minute,� Kat didn�t understand Ken.

"No, no, I mean� Ummm, does she have a boyfriend? Or is she married, do you know?� Ken rephrased his question.

"Oh� I got you. Umm� was that the question you were going ask me earlier?�

�I just want to know more information about Noi. She looks like a nice person, and I surely want to get to know her, that�s all. And maybe we will be �closer� than that!� Ken said with a smile as he remembered her reaction when he first kissed her last night.

"I don�t think she is married, but I don�t know if she has a boyfriend or not. However, with her attitude, I don�t think any guy wants to mess with her. She will kick ass if anybody says something perverted or nice to her,� Kat answered him.

"Wow, even if it is a nice comment, she will kick their ass?�

"Yup, because she doesn�t know if people are saying it for real or as a joke, so she kicks ass either way,� Kat explained.

"Wow, my type of girl,� Ken said to himself out loud, smiling.

"What do you mean your type of girl? Speaking of your type of girl, I heard people in the office say you got whooped on by a girl in some bar. Ha Ha Ha... are those the type you like?� Kat was making fun of him, not knowing it was Noi. She then added, �Oh yeah, how do you know Noi, by the way?�

Ken didn�t answer her but smiled and started asking other questions.

Kat was still talking to Ken outside of his car in front of the University. When Kat saw Noi, she called her name, which made Noi turn and walk to them. As Noi was walking towards Kat, she saw a guy she thought she would never see in her life ever again.

"Hey Noi, why are you walking so slow? I just dropped by to ask if you can take notes and get extra hand outs for me, please� Noi, oh yeah, do you have a cell phone? I think that would be more convenient next time Noi� N�O�I!!� Kat was talking to Noi, but Noi was not looking or listening to her. Instead, Noi was mugging Ken.

"Hi Noi, how are you doing?� Ken smiled and asked nicely.

This made Noi even more pissed. She thought she could forget the person who kissed her in the middle of the parking lot. Instead, here he was, talking to her as if they knew each other before and even worse, he was being nice, forgetting that he had done something wrong.

"Shut up and stop pretending to be nice. You monster!� Noi snapped at him and turned to Kat, and continued, �Kat, are you O.K? I can�t believe you are still hanging around this jerk. Did Khun Tik help you home safely?� Noi asked with concern.

"Noi, you know where I was last night? I didn�t do anything bad, did I?� Kat was curious.

"Kat, we will talk about it next time. Don�t worry. You didn�t do anything wrong, but some jackass was ready to do something to you. But don�t worry, I handled him well,� Noi looked right at Ken.

"Yeah, Noi took care of that jackass for you Kat, when that jackass stole her first--"

"Shut up!� Noi cut in angrily.

Ken smiled at her and turned to look at Kat. �Hey Kat, I will be waiting in the car. I think you should just do what you have to do. And I will send you back home before Tik kills me.�

Before Ken got in the car, he noticed Noi was eyeing his every step, so he turned around and looked at Noi, giving her a fish face by squeezing his lips together and closing his eyes.

Noi didn�t want to deal with it again, so she ignored him and talked to Kat about what she needed. Kat, on the other hand, was confused by their actions. She didn�t even introduce them to one another, but they seemed to get along with each other but in a weird way, in Kat�s eyes.

Once Kat and Noi were done talking, Ken sent Kat home and went back to the office to check up on Tik.

For the next few months, Tik had to fly to America, China, and Japan. He had been occupied with so many meetings. He didn�t really have time to see Kat as much and couldn�t make her travel with him because of her schooling. When he was back in Thailand, in his office, all he saw was Hugo sending her flowers in the morning on her desk and asking her out for lunch. After work, Ken sent her home or school and out for dinner. Tik worked like a madman; before, he liked the fact that he was busy, but now he wished he had more time on his hands.

Tik had been very hot-tempered to Ken for the past months. At first, Ken didn�t know why, but he figured it out. Ken knew Tik was worried about Kat more than anybody else in the office, or any other girl he had been with. Ken wanted to test Tik out, so he kept getting closer to Kat in front of Tik. Although Ken and Kat went out at night, there was always a third person with them, Noi.

Noi did not want to go out at night, but Kat kept begging her to go. Noi also did not want Kat to go out alone with a jerk like Ken, so she agreed to tag along.

Ken was happy to go with Kat and kept going out with her at night because Noi would always be there. Ken knew Tik was becoming irritated seeing him and Kat getting along so well in the office. Every time Ken and Kat left the office, it seemed like it was only the two of them going out, but Tik didn�t know that Noi would always meet up with them.

Three months passed by and the same thing happened to Tik every time he attempted to talk to Kat or give her a ride home or to school. He was always bombarded with meeting after meeting. By the time he got off from his meetings, Benz was always there waiting for him.

Kat was avoiding both Tik and Benz. She did not want to be in the middle of their lovie dovie time. She had been going out with Ken a lot so she could also avoid Hugo and Anna.

Every time Benz saw Kat, she was always with Hugo or Ken. Benz would take the news to Tik�s ears but tweaked the story ever so much. As Benz manipulated Tik and made him see her side of things, he began to believe her.

Tik started to become jealous of Ken and Hugo and got closer to Benz and her words. Even if Kat and Tik were in the same office, they didn�t talk much because Kat was busy doing her work, while Tik was busy in his meetings.

Tik and Kat didn�t have a real conversation for a long time, and the same went for him and Ken. Tik had been busy and tired; he didn�t even go to the coffee shop to talk to Ken anymore. The only person he talked to was Benz because she always waited for him until he was out of his meetings.

Tik was trying to be strong and bitter as he could to Benz, but he was starting to turn soft. He didn�t forget that she was the one that hurt him. He didn�t care about Benz and getting hurt from her. He was hurt, not from Benz, but from Kat. He didn�t know why, so he tried to avoid those feelings by spending time with Benz.

Benz thought that by spending time with Tik and telling him things that were not true she could eventually win over his heart. However, even as Tik was spending more time with her, he was burning up inside. The more she told him things about Kat and the guys around her, the more jealous he got.

When Tik went to America for his monthly meetings, he went to Kat�s parents� house and had dinner. Of course, Auntie Vicky was there to join the conversation. Tik found out something important that Kat didn�t know about her family�s situation.

Tik helped to find a solution to their problems and hide it from Kat. Tik knew he could use this information to get Kat in bed with him. But he told himself that he wouldn�t use it unless it is necessary.

After coming from America, back to Thailand, Tik�s jealous mind thought it was now necessary to tell Kat about her family crisis. If Kat knew what her family was going through, she would be on her knees begging him to help her family. Tik was waiting for the moment to tell her, he just needed to wait a little longer.
