Chapter 14 --- Personal Secretary

Tik took Kat to the museums and site seeing areas. Kat was happy that he was taking her to places like these, but she felt weird at times. She didn�t know why he was being nice? Usually he would take her to expensive places and try to throw money at her and make her feel cheap! But this time, he took her to places which didn�t cost money, just time, and he was giving that to her.

"Did you call your mother already??He asked with concern.

"Yes, I did. Thank you for calling her for me earlier.?Kat replied back.

Tik called her mother to let her family know they were safe in Thailand. Also to inform her mother Kat got sick, and was recovering at his house.

"Kat, do you want to go to your new place??He said with a gentle smile while looking her in the eyes.

"Ummmm�sure. Ok, if it is not a bother to you.?She responded with a shock, wondering why he was asking her if she wanted to or not, usually he would do it and could care less if she wanted to or not.

"Wow, this is such a beautiful place. It�s too big for one person to stay here.? She was amazed with her condo.

"I knew you would like it.?Tik said with a smile.

Kat looked at him, and got her thinking, so she questioned him, �What do you mean you knew I would like it??

"Oh, don�t be so suspicious. When you where sleeping, I told my servants to check out your place to see if it was safe or not. They told me the area and I knew this place would be a nice place. That�s all.?Tik gave an explanation with a cool face. He continued, �I�m hungry, are you? Let�s get something to eat, yeah??

"Ok, sure. Oh, can I move in here today??

"Of course, but are you sure? I mean it is lonely here. Also, you are still sick, no??Tik said concerned.

Tik�s kindness was scaring Kat. She didn�t know what he was thinking, but he was being extremely nice to her.

"Let�s go and eat,?Kat said, trying to forget his last comment, and her weird feelings.

Things were getting to be nice. Kat was actually enjoying the day with him. When they were finished with their lunch and walked out the restaurant, Kat saw someone familiar getting in a car. She was trying to figure out who was it, but by the time she remembered, the car was about to move. Kat screamed out �H�U�G�O?Hugo, Hugo?as she was running towards the car, it was already moving towards the exit.

Tik ran after Kat, when he heard that name �Hugo? But Kat was a second too late, the car left.

"Dammit, why couldn�t I have remembered earlier? Now I have to wait until I e-mail him, I wish I could surprise him instead.?Kat was saying out loud to herself, and of course Tik heard it too.

Behind her, Kat heard a voice, �Is that your LOVER BOY, Kat? Is this the reason why you came to Thailand? It wasn�t about you getting your studies done, or wanting to travel, but for that guy right there, HUGO right??Tik said with a different tone of voice.

"Tik, are you O�K????Kat said with a confused face and wondered why his tone of voice changed when she said Hugo�s name.

"Of course I�m ok, why shouldn�t I be? Let�s go back to my place, so you can start moving into your new place. Or do you want to stay at my place, with me there too??Tik said with a smirk on his face.

Kat didn�t understand why he changed just when they were having a good time together! Well, at least that�s what she thought.

Kat was unpacking her clothes into the new place. She was confused with Tik�s attitude. He could be so nice, but the next thing you know, he could have a nasty attitude.

"Whatever Kat, he did his job. He took care of you and sent you back to your place safe and sound. Don�t think about him again.?She said to out loud to herself.

"Ahhh�why am I thinking of him now? Was it because he was being really nice today? But than again, he was being mean after lunch, when I said Hugo�s name�he changed completely�umm...Nah, it couldn�t be...he couldn�t have gotten jealous when I said Hugo...Nah�I�m too full of myself...what am I thinking, someone like him getting jealous of someone like me??Kat said to her self again, and start laughing out loud.

Once she unpacked, she went straight to sleep because the next day she had to find the university and register for classes. Once she was done with her classes, she had to find her new work place. It will be a long and big day for her. She went to sleep early, without knowing whom she would see or meet in the future.

"AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh�help�HELPPP!!!�that person stole my purse... help!!!?an old lady was screaming in the middle of the street as Kat was finding her way to school.

Kat was close to the thief that stole the old lady�s purse and was ready to run after him, but someone was already ahead of her.

A female in a school uniform grabbed the thief and kicked him left and right. Kat looked at her style of martial arts; it was tae kwon do, the way she did her kicks, and the movements. The female then bent the thief�s arms, and elbowed him in the face. She then made him get on his knees and waited for the cops to arrive.

Kat was overwhelmed at the girl�s style and talent, but she didn�t have time to go into the mess. She still had to find her way to school.

When Kat finally reached the office and picked her classes, she was tired. So she got a drink and sat down on the bench.

"Excuse me, is this seat saved for someone? If no, can I sit here??said the girl that Kat saw earlier.

"Ummm, sure. It�s not saved for anybody.?Kat said with a friendly tone.

"Thanks, all the other benches are taken, so I have to crash here,?the girl said.

Kat was curious with her marital arts, �Do you know tae kwon do??

The girl was shocked, �Umm?how you know I take tae kwon do??? No one knows, not even my family.?

Kat responded, �Oh... I�m sorry if I scared you, it is just that I�ve seen you kick that thief�s butt this morning, when I was finding my way to school. Oh, and what belt are you??

The girl wasn�t shocked anymore, but became friendly, �Oh, my name is Noi by the way. I have been doing tae kwon do for 5 years now. I�m a black belt. I suppose you are a black belt too since you seem to notice my moves. Oh yeah, what is your name??

Kat smiled and said �Nice to meet you Noi, my name is Katreeya, but people call me Kat for short. I just came to Thailand a couple of days ago, so I don�t know my way around here much. I�ve been doing martial arts for while too, in America though.?

"Oh, yeah that sucks for not knowing where to go. How about this, I�ll show you around the area, and what classes are you taking???Noi said concerned.

Kat and Noi talked for hours before Kat had to leave and find her work place. For those hours, Kat got to know Noi better. Kat knew she just made a new friend. On the outside, Noi looked mean, and could beat the heck out of anybody who messed with her. But really, if someone talked to her, Noi can be very caring and nice. Kat liked her new friend and knew she could count on her.

Everybody thinks Noi is a tomboy, even her family members think she�s one. No one knew she was doing tae kwon do, or anything. Her family and her weren�t close. Noi had been independent and taking care of herself for a while now. She lived in her own apartment and also worked part time to support herself, while going to school part time. Just like Kat, Noi didn�t have many friends because she was always busy with school and work, and didn�t have much time to go out. Most of Noi�s friends are married, so when she met Kat, she was happy she got a new friend.

Kat was in a good mood because she made a new friend. When Kat arrived at her work place, they were already expecting her, she got nervous. She didn�t know what to do; she forgot to call them and ask about her position. She knew she shouldn�t have signed the contract until she visited the place.

A gentleman approached her, �Hi, are you Katreeya??

"Yes, I am...?

"Good, this way please. Follow me, and I will show you your office, oh and my name is Ken by the way.? The gentleman guided her to her office.

Ken had been working there for years now. He is a close friend of the boss. Ken was a trustworthy person. He is very honest and sometimes gullible. He was still young and single, and a little shy at times, but not all the time.

As they were walking, Kat wanted to ask some questions, �Umm?do you know who my boss is? And what I will be doing? Oh, and you can call me Kat for short?Kat said.

Ken responded, �Ok, Khun Kat, your boss is already in the office waiting for you. I think you have a secretary position of helping your boss.?

"Oh... secretary, that�s cool. How is the boss? Is that person cool??Kat wanted to know more about her position and her new boss.

"Oh Kat, you�re funny. I think your boss is cool, but I don�t understand one thing??

"Understand what??Kat wanted to know.

"Ahh... Here we are, lets go in.?Ken said.

Knock Knock?

"We�re here�� Ken said.

A familiar voice replied, �Come in.?

As Kat walked in the office she closed her eyes and prayed that it wasn�t the person she didn�t want to see most.

"Ah�Hello Kat how was school? Did you find it alright??Said Tik, her new boss.

"Why didn�t you tell me you were my Boss? If I knew---?

"That�s right, if you knew, you wouldn�t have taken it. But I guess you didn�t learn your lesson from you last contract. Now I guess you have to hold yourself back for 2 years, instead of one! Am I right Kat??Tik said with confidence.

"Umm... Did you guys know each other before?? And ummm... should I go out and leave you guys to talk??Ken saw the tension between the two and didn�t know whether to leave of stay.

Kat replied, �Stay Khun Ken. I think it is good that 3 people are in here.?

Tik also replied back, �I think you should go first Ken, Kat and I need to talk about her new position, which is my �personal secretary!?So I think it is best for only two people to be in here. Because only two people will be working in here day and night TOGETHER!?Tik said demandingly.

Ken got the message, so he left the office as fast as possible.

Kat looked at Tik and said, �Why are you always doing this to me! And why does my desk have to be in your office! Seeing your face ever month in America was hard enough and now I have to see your face every day in Thailand. I�d rather get fired!?Kat burst out with anger.

"Kat, all you need to do is one thing, just do what I want. Remember my proposal? Take that proposal and you will be free!?Tik said coolly, knowing she was getting annoyed with him and his attitude.

"Damn you! You really think I�ll put my pride down for money, don�t you! Is this some kind of challenge? You think I can�t handle you? I can do whatever I want, and I will NEVER, I repeat NEVER, give up anything to you!!!?Kat stood up for her pride.

Tik didn�t care �Keep telling yourself that. Oh yeah, you are my personal secretary as of today, so you will be working extremely close to me! Therefore, keep being strong! Sooner or later, you will lose yourself to me!?Tik said seductively.

"Damn, I hate you! I can�t believe my parents want you to take care of me!! I can�t believe I have to tolerate you and your womanizing attitude. I�m leaving!?As Kat was ready to walk out, get grabbed her and pull her close to him.

"Kat, I want you to be here by 9 AM tomorrow. You will start working as of tomorrow, you got that.?He let her go and kissed her on the cheek.

"Don�t you dare do that again! And what if I don�t come back tomorrow. What if I leave and go back to America huh? That will make me happy!?Kat said it and ran out of the office.

She was running out of the building, when tears were about to fall from her eyes. She said to herself �How stupid I am! Thinking I want to see Hugo so bad, I was tricked to sign another hell contract. I�m soooo stupid!?

She then started to walk because she got tired from running. When she looked up to see where she was at, she saw the same car she saw the other day. She ran closer to see if it was the same person she thought it was.

As a man�s figure was turning towards Kat, Kat knew it was him, �Hugo?Hugo??

As the man heard a woman screaming his name out loud, he tried to see who it could be.

When he saw Kat, he remembered �K�a�t?? Umm, is that you????

Kat was so happy he remembered her; she ran closer to him, she wanted to hug him. She found the person she wanted to see most, especially at time like this, when someone was taking advantage of her.

As Kat got closer to Hugo�there was a woman walking behind him. She spotted Kat, and went closer to Hugo and grabbed his arm!

As Kat reached him, he wanted to say more than �Hi,?but he couldn�t.

"Hi, Kat, haven�t seen you for awhile now. How are you??The woman next to Hugo pinched him, it was a sign to introduce her to Kat, Hugo continued, �Oh�ummm... I would like to introduce you to Anna, my wife.?

"H...hi?Kat was shocked because of the words that were coming out of his mouth, but she managed to say something and give a fake smile.

As Kat was standing outside of the parking lot, in front of Hugo and his wife, she said to herself �This is not happening to me. The person I want to see the most is MARRIED?How can this be?? It�s not supposed to be like this�I can�t believe this... First my new boss is Tik, now Hugo is married?What else???
