Train operations

Belvédère is operated according a train sequence which was extracted out of the 1982 summer time table, the last time trains were running on the old Furka line. I try to represent a day's operation with the typical train compositions found running on the line.

Every spot position on the layout carries its particular code which is refered to in the sequence list when switching moves are described.

A list with all the train sequences containing all the necessary information is used for the operation. The list is self explainatory and is enclosed herewith. Train numbers in italic mark special trains:

5.5. Practical operation

The basic compositions are already arranged on the 4 available cassetts in the fiddle yard:

Engines have their own shorter cassetts.

It is only a matter of arranging the cassetts at the right exit and trains can then be despatched.

For the use on the empty cassette or for adding coaches to existing compositions I use a little ramp which fascilitates the rerailing of waggons on the tracks.
