This book by Judy Groner and Madeline Wikler talks about the story of Hanukkah. It goes through in detail the candle lighting and blessing, how Hanukkah is celebrated today and the gifts and games that Jewish family�s play to celebrate the magic of Hanukkah. Schotter, Roni. (1990). Hanukkah! Boston: Little, Brown and Company. This book by Roni Schotter is a great picture book of the story of Hanukkah. It takes you through the celebration of Hanukkah talking about the potato pancakes, the dreydal and lighting the candles and the big family dinner. It does not go into detail of the history of Hanukkah but it really gives you and understanding for children of what goes on through Hanukkah. Simon, Norma. (1966). The Story of Hanukkah. Harper Collins Publishers. This book talks about how each winter people all over the world celebrate Hanukkah. They light candles on the menorah, sing songs and say prayers. It is a time for Jewish people to celebrate their culture and remember the people who fought for their religion. |
