| We arrived at the mall the next morning to find a small stage set up against the far wall between, Wet Seal and Victoria's Secret. We walk up behind the curtain and found a small crew setting up microphones and other equipment. "Damn, I never thought that, that... we would be performing in such a prestigous place." Dhani exclaimed sarcastically. "I know! I've never been THIS close to Victoria's Secret before!" yelled Amit excitedly trying to get a better glimpse through the window. "Hey Marie," I called across the stage. "What?" Marie called back walking towards me. "I bet you'll never guess who came!" I said to her. She slowly peeked throught the blue velvet curtains and saw Blake sitting on a bench not too far from the stage. A huge grin spread across her face. "Oh my gosh, I can't believe he came!" Marie said as she turned to me. "I know! He is sooo sweet!" I assured her. Dhani came up behind me and put his arms around my waist. "I come to ALL of your shows Sara! And you're calling him sweet? What about me?" Dhani asked. "You are definetly sweet! Taking time out of your busy schedule, going out of your way to come to MY shows!" I said rolling my eyes as I looked up at him. "I know, it's no problem!" Dhani said kissing me softly and walking away leaving Marie and I laughing. Finally, after we all got our microphones put on we waited anxiously to perform. *** *** *** *** *** "Here they are folks, performing here at the Central Square Mall, "the A*Teens!" One of the crew members announced as the curtain was opened to reveal us in dancing formation. After we did three songs, the show was over. *** *** *** *** *** "More people came than I ever thought would!" Amit said with his mouth full of pizza. "Uh, Amit, that's sick!" I said as I looked across the table at him. "Where did Marie go?" Amit asked. "She went somewhere with Blake." Dhani answered. Suddenly a cell phone rang. Amit answered it, "Hello...yeah...wow, cool...u huh...yeah...thank you...bye." "Who was that?" I asked. "You'll never believe it, but, that was a record company executive! His wife was shopping and heard us and they want us to go there tomorrow and talk about signing contracts!" Amit screamed excitedly. I turned next to me a gave Dhani a hug. I was couldn't believe something like that had happened. "We have to get a hold of Marie!" I yelled at Amit. Amit dialed her number on his phone and after he told her the news we could hear her voice through the phone, screaming. It all seemed perfect. "PERFECT!" *** *** *** *** *** The next morning I had to wake up bright and early to meet everyone at MCA Records. It was a big meeting with all of our parents. We sang acapella, talked about recording, talked about touring, and then finally we all signed contracts. When the day was finally over, all I wanted to do was relax. I went over to Dhani's house for our usual weekly movie night. I lay entagled in Dhani's arms watching Ace Ventura on his bed. I glanced up at him and found him staring down at me. "What?" I giggled. "Nothing, just... I can't believe what happened today. I mean, you know I never thought anyone would ever really want to listen to us. I thought the whole group was kinda a waste of time, except for meeting you." Dhani said pressing his lips against my forehead. I tilted my chin up to him and we kissed. "You are too sweet!" I said squeezing him against me and kissing him again. Suddenly the phone rang. |
