| Danny Draven Born on May 10th, 1978, Danny Draven (formerly Hageman) currently resides in Hollywood. At the age of fourteen he began playing guitar. A year later, he began playing classical guitar around town at fancy restaurants and produced a C.D. entitled Ancient Journeys a collection of beautiful solo guitar performances. around this time he also began teaching 25 students a week at a local music store and running a small business called Hageman Productions, in which he recorded local bands, did website work, computer consulting, and even built a small recording studio in the basement. But this could only last so long... until it was time to take the next step. At sixteen, a young, long-haired Draven graduated from Fairmont High School in Dayton, Ohio. A year later, he graduated with honors from the International College of Broadcasting with a diploma in Audio / Recording Engineering. The next week, he sold everything he owned and moved to Boston to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music where he received a scholarship. It was there he changed majors every semester studying subjects like Performance, Film Scoring, Music Business, and Music Therapy. After a year at Berklee, he found himself regretting his choice of schools. "I think that attending Berklee helped me pick what Film School I wnated to go to. I love music and always will, but I love filmmaking more than anything! Berklee was an interesting experience, I found myself in guitar lessons talking to my teacher about Fellini and Fulci... he didn't mind... I guess he saw I just didn't care about guitar anymore." Danny said. After that semester, he dropped out of Berklee and went to Film School at Emerson College. Danny comments "...I maxed out my credit cards and bought my own 16mm equipment and made a few movies myself and edited them in Premiere. After i bought a bunch of equipment, I realized I knew no one, had no money left to buy film, and no place to shoot anything. I learned very little aboout production there, but I can talk your head off about film theroy. HorrorVision was my film school." Danny also wrote quite a bit for the college newspaper. One article in particular entitled "A Cybersea of Pirates" was not well received because someone complained it was teaching people how to hack. With a total of three years in college, he graduated with a B.A. degree in Film Production. Two weeks after graduation, and 21, he sold everything again. He packed up his computer and camera into a small car, and drove three thousand miles to Los Angeles. Danny comments "I came out here cold turkey. I had no place to live, I knew no one, I had no job prospects... just a desire to make movies no matter what. People though I was crazy, and I was, but still... filmmaking is all that matters to me." After a few weeks of getting turned down by all the apartments because he had no job, he found a home at an overpriced temporary housing complex. He sent thousands of resumes looking for web-design work. After some ridiculous interviews at make-up houses and porn sites, he got a call from Full Moon Pictures for an interview. "I had three interviews with them. The guy I interviewed with saw my websites, and they looked totally wrong on his old web browser. So I stood there in my suit like a idiot, trying to explain why it rendered wrong in his browser. I didn't get the job. But on my way out, I saw Full Moon's glass display case with creatures from Ghoulies, Puppet Master, Demonic Toys and other Full Moon favorites. As I walked out, I saw myself working there. I really wanted to work there because they made Horror movies." A month later, Danny created a totally new website... he reapplied to Full Moon and demanded another chance. And behold, they gave it to him. He worked in the web-division for almost a year, before quitting to start his web-design, video editing company Cyberpunk Studios, which eventually became a motion picture production company called DARKWAVE FILMS which finally became known as DARKWORLD PICTURES, INC.
