Arms & Armor
This is the section were you will find out about the weapons and armor of our game.  This section will include weapon construction, weapon damage and how the armor system works.  So lets get started.

Weapon Construction

First you will need a few things.  These will be used to construct the basic sword or dagger.
3/4" PVC or CPVC pipe
Strapping tape
5/8" insulation pipe foam
Duck tape
Pennies
Open Cell Foam

First cut the pipe to be about an 1" to 1 " shorter than the desired length of the weapon you want to make.  Next take two pennies and put one on each end of the pipe.  Use strapping tape to secure them in place.  Next cut the pipe foam to be at least an inch over the length of half the pipe.  Now slide the pipe foam over the pipe so that is covers at least half of the pipe and leaves an inch to an inch and a half sticking out off the top.  Now use the strapping tape to secure the foam to the pipe just at the end of the foam.  Now take a small piece of pipe foam and stuff it in the top where you left the inch or so sticking up.  Take the strapping tape and make an "X" across the top of the weapon where you have your stuffing.  This is so the stuffing won't fall out.  Now for the hard part.  Run a piece of duck tape from just below the pipe foam that is on the pipe, so that it connects to both the pipe and the foam, and bring it up and over the top of the weapon and back down the other side securing it back down to the pipe. Do the same to the other side.  Make sure that all the foam is covered and there are as few "bubbles" as possible.  Now you have the absolute most basic weapon you can have.  There are many different additions that you can do to your weapon such as add a cross guard, pommel, or even turn it into an ax or mace, but for the most part that is what you need to do for a basis for all weapons.  I Strongly suggest that you barrow a weapon for your first event and talk to others about weapon construction before you try and make your own weapon.

Weapon Damage
Now when you start the game you as a new player are unable, to weild any size weapon.  If you want to use weapons(i recommand you do) you must spend character points to use a certin size weapon, small, medium, and large.  Now for instance you only want to use large weapons this is alright you buy the ability and you may only use those large weapons.  For prices on weapon legnths will be in the
skill section.  Also types of weapons Sword, Axe, and Blunt.
Here is the breakdown on size and damage.
A Dagger weapon is considered any weapon between the length of 12'' and 18"
A Small weapon  is considered any weapon between the lengths of 18" and 36". No smaller or larger.
A Medium weapon is any weapon between the lengths of 37" and 54".
A Large weapon is any weapon between the lengths of 55" and 78"
*A hand an a half weapon is any weapon between the lengths of 45" and 60".
**A two handed weapon is any weapon between the lengths of 61" and 78".  Two handed weapon strikes must start and end with two hands on the weapon.  If you are missing an arm you my only perry with a two handed weapon.  You can not have any other weapon or shield in your hand while wielding a two handed weapon.

All weapons inculding arrows do 1 point of damage, unless told other wise.

Armor and how it works
This section is devoted to armor.  Armor takes up different forms and shapes.  It can range from a leather jacket to a magical spell cast on you, but no matter how you look at it this is that will save your butt.  Armor that is in its physical form must be worn such as a leather jacket or chain mail.  You have to put that stuff on and wear it to get the benefit.  Magic armor such as spells and scrolls simply have to have a viable symbol showing you have it.  Now for how all this armor stuff works.  Lets say Bob the spell caster has a spell that gives him one point Aura armor.  This means that Bob has a protective bubble around him that once he is hit that bubble pops soaking up all the damage dealt to him and he loses no hit points.  So say Bob gets into a fight with Mr. Goblin and the goblin hits him with his long sword, Bob calls out his armor and takes no damage, but now his armor is gone and if he gets hit again he will start losing hit points.  Now if Bob buys a scroll of Bark Skin and uses it he gains one point of sectional armor.  What this means is that he gains one point of armor for each hit location of his body, i.e. one pint for his head, one point for his left arm, etc. Physical armor counts as sectional armor for whatever it covers, i.e. a jacket covers the chest, back and both arms.  Each piece of physical armor will be judged separately to see how much protection it will provide.

I will cover a general span of what type of armor gives what type of protection, this is only going to cover physical armor and not magical:

Type:                       Points:
Padded 3/4"                 1
Soft Leather                 2
Studded Leather           3
Hard Leather                4
Metal Armor                5

You must buy with character points the type of armor you can wear as a character see
skill section for more details.
Five Points of armor is the highest armor you can gain by wearing actual armor. Though it may not seem like much it is in fact a great advantage especially since fighters are the only ones who can wear that much and they can use big weapons too boot.
