| Whyc got his killer nickname from our close friend, Adam VanHoose (P-burg c/o 2002), in the summer of '97 and has maintained the world's greatest nickname ever since. We were the three Adams who grew up on KY Rt. 993, and developed a kindred sanguinity due to it. Whyc is the guy down the road who I could wrestle or play music with even when I was grounded. His house was the site for pizza, swimming, and jam sessions every weekend for the last two years of high school. He, Steve, and I never had any brothers, so we've been each other's brothers for eight years. He's the one who got us into cigarettes, and consequently, the only one still into them. From designing sets for our stage for when we're rock stars, to dating best friends on the internet, to hoisting Steve through an open window in the boiler room of our own old elementary school to get a ladder so we could get on the roof, we've been through thick and thin, and a journey to Frozen Creek wouldn't have been the same without him. --Adam |

| Who I am: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Adam Ratliff, temporary tour guide since I had been to Frozen and Joel had not. Also long term friends with Adam, Steve, Joel, and Prink, and bass player for Praise Assembly of God in Prestonsburg and Christian raprock band, Soulogic. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| What I expected: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Having already been there once before, I didn't expect to see anything until afterwards. That's how it goes. Nobody sees anything while they're there, but everybody sees something after they get home. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| What I experienced: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A newfound wealth in timepieces; Steve picked up a Fossil watch from the little field in front of the dorm that he voiced no need for and gave to me. I experienced a lot of walking. I experienced the fireplace in the dormitory lounge, the stagnant bath tub, and the boiler room for the first time this trip. Otherwise, it was the same as before. |

| What I thought about it then: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| At the time, I thought it was harmless and nonhazardous to my spirituality. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| What I think about it now: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It can't physically harm me, but it can harm my spirituality by things that Adam showed me. I won't be going back there -- not because I'm scared of ghosts or the like, but because I'm a God-fearing person. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| What I want you to know about it: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Frozen is a hole in the Earth that is only inhabited by real spirits because the "tourists" want it to be, and it's not worth the time and gas it takes getting there to see a few run-down old buildings. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
