Steve's Testimony:
Stephen "Teeb" Short has always been the one in my life who was with me when I did crazy things like explore abandoned places in the neighborhood, or walk to a nearby elementary school at 2:30 AM to find an unlocked door and spend the night writing on chalk boards and talking on the intercom.
This picture captures his curious nature by proving his unsuggested exploration
inside the fireplace in the lobby of the dormitory.  He and I together discovered that two men are infinitely more brave and daring than a solitairy person, and that a group of eight curious college kids have the power in numbers to do about anyithing in the world.

Who I am:
Stephen Short; graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, video coordinator for Praise Assembly in Prestonsburg, Systems Network Technician for Foothills Rural Telephone
in Paintsville, and close friend to Adam, Prink, Whyc, Joel, and Jesse.  Also, picture-taker of nearly all the photos on this site.
What I expected:
Nothing, really.  I just thought it would be a semi-spooky place with big buildings like in all classic scary movies.
What I experienced:
At the time, a semi-spooky place with relatively small buildings.  Admittedly, when a car passed and we all ducked into the dorm and I was unfortunate (or stupid) enough to jump into the old boiler room by myself, it was freaky.

The dorm itself was a little disturbing just for the thought that it was where children (who may have died) used to sleep.  The old gymnasium rocked (excluding the pentagram on the stage Joel accidentally stood on for a picture).  It was nice and big with a delapidated roof threatening to collapse further at any moment.

The other buildings were actually cooler, but without really knowing the history or even what these rooms were used for, they lost a little of their charm.
What I thought about it then:
I know up until now I sound kind of bored with it all, but that is not the case.  It definitely had its freaky qualities.  I was scared but not really because of the group mentality (safety in numbers and all that).  It was a cool experience with friends.
What I think about it now:
Hearing that there was an odd "Help Me" on the video (which I still haven't seen) sort of took away the care-free idea I had about the ex-perience.  Also viewing the pictures on my digital camera at McDonalds in Jackson that night and seeing the smoky/foggy stuff was a little reminder that not all things are what you think they are.
What I want you to know about it:
It was a cool experience, but I would not suggest it -- just for the fact that going off chasing demons or ghosts isn't the smartest thing a person can do.  And if that's what you're expecting to see, you will see something... maybe, but you will be sorely disappointed.
