a little girl?
And if you think this is scary...
...you should hear it backwards.
(Allow a moment for audio loading/buffering time.)
Princess and I had brought Joel's brother, Brent, to the house J-Thorn and Jerm lived in at Menifee County.  The five of us had just gone to the Mushroom Mines at Olive Hill with MSU students Tia.

We popped in the tape Jerm had just recorded at the mines.  The first half of the tape was Frozen, so we rewound it back for the Paintsville party's first viewing.  We inspected every detail of every frame with the keen analysis of a school nurse in a lice epidemic.  Suddennly Joel's brother sits up asking, "Hey! What was that?"  None of us had heard anything, but we were very excited to hear what he had just detected.

I'll never forget that feeling.  You could hear the air in the room as we pressed Rewind and then Play on the VCR.  What we all heard sounded exactly like a distant cry of a trapped little girl calling for help.  In the particular scene, Prink, Whyc, and myself are looking into a small, delapidated room in the gymnasium building.  All the others were accounted for, as they had been in recent shots expect Jerm, who was filming.

Studying how ominous the room looked, and anticipating the night-time rounds of the campus, Whyc challenged Prink and I to, "Imagine confronting that during the night."  Immediately after these words are spoken, you can hear the faint plea for help.  Some listeners such as
Shane Mullins and Tiffany Spencer believe it is a child crying for a parent, by the title "Mommy" or "Daddy."  Us travelers' unanimous initial impression was "help me."

It left an impression on all of us.  The majority of us believe that it was just an impersonation of a little girl made by a
real spirit with evil intent.  I don't think there's a ghost of a chance, but other listeners have chosen to believe that there's a chance of a ghost.
