CHAPTER 4 A WEEK
LATER... Brian
had found out that Andrea was staying with Hayley and had called her several
times, but Andrea had refused to talk to him, he realized that the only thing
left to do was to go and see her so he did! He got in his car and headed to
Hayley’s house. * * * * "If
you need anything, don’t hesitate to call me okay?" Hayley told her friend
as she hugged her goodbye. She hoped not for the last time. "Okay."
Andrea said returning the hug. She, too, was acutely aware of the fact that
this might be the last time that she was seeing her best friend. "You
sure you don’t want me to come with you to the airport?" Hayley asked for
like the millionth time that day. "I’m
sure. I’ll just take a taxi and go. It’s much easier for me to say goodbye this
way." Andrea said. "If you come with me, i may never leave." Hayley
smiled. She and Andrea had been best friends for about eight years. They had
always been there for each other and the thought that they were going to be
separated, not for a few months or years but for eternity, made the few days
they spent together even more special. But at the same time sad knowing that
this was all they had left with each other. Andrea
didn’t deserve this. She was too young to die. Heck she was only twenty-two!
She didn’t have a chance to really live life! The thought of it made Hayley
start to cry. Andrea knew exactly what she was thinking and hugged her tightly
crying as well. "Don’t
worry about me Hayley." She said between sobs, "I’ll be fine." There
she went again! Putting up that front!
Hayley was bout to protest, when the taxi that was waiting beeped the horn
loudly. "I’m
coming damnit! Can’t you see I’m saying goodbye to my best friend!" Andrea
shouted to the taxi driver. She said it more jokingly than angrily and Hayley
had to crack a smile. God! She was going to miss her! Andrea
then passed her hands over her cheeks wiping away her tears, "If
i don’t leave now, I’m gonna miss my flight." She said. "Okay.
Take care." Hayley kissed her cheek. Andrea got in the taxi and waved at
her. |
