Michelle
Michelle Walker is a card-game champion and love interest of Ness in EarthBound: The Perpetual Adventures. She is known for belonging to a rare category in "EarthBound" storytelling: a character who has presented a serious challenge to Paula when it comes to Ness's love life. This is complicated by the two girls being friends.

A film fan who's open to being outgoing and trying new things, Michelle is rather collected, and often bold in the face of a challenge with someone she's less than fond of, but sometimes reserved when it comes to new people or ones she's already close to.

Her affections and her comically rowdy nature are among the key factors that have shaped her bond with Ness -- not just romantically, but as good friends as well.

Background

Michelle has, at times, kept her family details well-guarded. As an apparent only-child and presently living in a single-parent household, she has grown up with a lot of hobbies, being an avid card-game player, fanfiction writer, and film fan, citing a collection of favorite pictures and directors.

Michelle met Ness as a favor to Paula when he found himself stood up on a date. The two connected quickly through humor and entertainment, and agreed that they'd be seeing each other again.

On all of her initial dates with Ness, Michelle insisted that they not be alone, claiming that this was a requirement of her dad's. In time it was revealed that this was actually an excuse for her to mask her hesitation with solo dating.

As she grew fonder of Ness, she eventually confided this in him, and found that he was acceptant of her feelings. As a result, Ness and Michelle have formed a very honest relationship, and have not only gone on dates alone since, but will openly discuss many matters, ranging from other people to the state they feel they're currently in.
