CHARACTERISTICS OF ORIGINAL ORGANISM: 3-5 inches in length, 6/10-7/10 ounces, 12 inch wingspan, brown fur, thin skin stretches out to act as wings.

ADAPTATIONS OF ORGANISM TO NEW NICHE: The bat has received sharp claws on the bottom of its feet in order to be a better predator, a protruding upper jaw to help capture prey, wider wings in order to glide better, and an aerodynamic tail to help it fly.

ORGANISM INTERACTIONS: Live in nests in trees, their predators are large tree animals that eat the eggs and large birds, they are both nocturnal and diurnal hunters and the decision is based on what food is most abundant.
BEHAVIOR: males leave nest after mating season, females provide shelter and food for their young, and colonies of bats will meet in one spot during summer for mating.
