    Former parties
The following parties are no longer active but did play an important role in Hiverian history. Some of these were banned by president Collignon in 2007, for not accepting the controversial election result that brought him to power. Because of this, the remaining parties accepted the result, albeit under protest.

  • Parti Réactionnaire (PR) (Reactionary Party): The PR strived for the return of the monarchy and was led by esquire Yves Concarneau, a descendant of the last Hiverian king. Despite its large support amongst the nobility and the conservative citizenry it never managed to gain the needed majority for this. (banned in 2007)

  • Alliance Nationale Hivérienne (ANH) (Hiverian National Alliance): Nationalist party that opposed the growing influence of Islam in Hiveria and had a hostile attitude towards Friland. (banned in 2007)

  • Front Populaire Communiste (FPC) (Communist People's Front): The FPC was very popular during the 60's, even to such a degree that NATO feared that Hiveria would join the Warsaw Pact. However, in the years thereafter the party lost much support due to its rigid economic views and merged with the PA. (1998 > PA)

  • Mouvement Fasciste (MF) (Fascist Movement): Founded in 1924 and modeled after Mussolini's fascist party, striving for secularization and overthrowing democracy. Banned in 1945 when Hiveria decided to take part in the war on Allied side. (banned in 1945)

  • Parti de Foi et Conscience (PFC) (Party of Faith and Conscience): Defended the interests of the Protestant minority but never gained enough votes to achieve anything. It therefore joined the UC in 2003, a very controversial move due to the Catholic nature of this party, which caused almost half of its supporters to leave. (2003 > UC)

  • Parti de Libération du Walamark de l'Est (PLWE) (Liberation Party for Eastern Walamark): Forerunner of the present PF, also known under its Frilandic name 'Farlausungsfluk fur Aust-Walamark'. In 1964 it organised a Pro-Frilandic demonstration in Deuxchâteau (Fril: Twaiburg), which was violently crushed. After this, the party was banned and its members arrested. (banned in 1964)
