About the region: Ribeirão Preto is at the top of one of the most developed areas in the country. It has a population of about 500 thousand inhabitants and is proud to have a first world social index. The humid-tropical climate and fertile soil of the region make Ribeirão Preto an area of prosperity within it. In the past, the region was the capital of coffee and nowadays it leads with products such as soy beans, corn and peanut and it is the biggest agricultural region in the country in the orange business. It also comprises the world's greatest alcohol production center. Ribeirão Preto is also recognized in the health field by having one of the most advanced Latin America's Research Center. Ribeirão Preto boasts the 3 largest Opera House in Brazil wich was recently renovated.

About the exchanges: we have an interesting program. Besides the traditional welcome and farewell parties, we usually visit sugar cane mills, farms, country clubs and nearby cities. We have also included cultural events of the city scheduled at the time of exchange. In general, our program has distinctly pleased our visitors and allowed long term friendship.
