Introduction

If you are reading this page, you have undoubtedly heard of the "Free Zone". This name is now used by the followers of William Branton Robertson (also known as "Capt." Bill Robertson), but which originally referred to people who had resigned from the Church of Scientology and tried to continue outside it.

I became personally involved in the Free Zone in the early 80's after I resigned from the Church of Scientology. Even so, I never believed in the stories that Bill Robertson told about himself and the "responsibilities" he alleged had been given to him by the Founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. Nor did most of the Free Zone people I met at the time. He was commonly referred to as "Space Willy" amongst the rest of the Free Zone members, due to his not being in the least bit credible. The Munich Free Zone even declared him "PTS Type III" by official issue in July 1984!

But it was not until several years later when I also got fed up with what I had seen in the Free Zone that I did a doubt condition again (I had done one before resigning from the Church in 1982) that some people in the Church of Scientology provided me with the documents on the real story about Bill Robertson. These documents confirmed my worst fears about him and also opened my eyes to the fact that in order to do a real doubt condition, one has to look at the intentions and statistics of both sides. I had not done it at the time and got into years of needless "squirrel" wandering off the lines and saw too many others going the same way.

The reason why I decided to create this web-page so that anyone who is thinking of leaving the Church and joining the Free Zone can look at both sides of the coin and also so that current members of the Free Zone can get facts they may not have been appraised of relating to Bill Robertson, the "spiritual leader" of the Free Zone.

I invite you to read on and make your own decisions after you have read my page. The page is not paid for by the Church, by the Marcab Society, nor by any of the societies mentioned in Sector 9 Operations Bulletin No. 18. I am giving you the information and the documents so that you can make up your own mind by looking at ALL of the data for yourself and not just blindly believing what you are told by some elements of Free Zone. You should also note that the information I am about to give you is not mentioned in any of the Free Zone web pages and perhaps you could ask the board members of the Freie Zone e.V. why they felt it was necessary to withhold this data.
