Here in short is the conclusion of what happened at court:
- The arrest of Mr Collins-Bey was unlawful, in Robert's own words: "I was illegally arrested at the home of a female friend without an arrest warrant or probable cause. And no one had called the police from this home! And nor was this home the scene of the alleged crime. So at this point no one had informed the police that I had committed any crime. But that did not stop the Milwaukee police officers from placing me in handcuffs and reading me my Miranda rights."
- Mr Collins-Bey was judged by an all-white jury and a white judge
- He was NOT picked out/recognized in an illegal line-up
- The trial was unlawful in that it lacked a probable cause. Material for 'evidence' was taken from Mr Collins-Bey without him being charged. This material was not handled as the attorney requested it to be: in other words, the police investigators who handled the evidence could do so without any independent onlookers to see what happened with it (blood samples, for instance).
- Robert received Ineffective Assistance of Counsel
- He has always pleaded NOT GUILTY
- There is no convincing evidence that Mr Collins-Bey shot and killed two policemen in Milwaukee in the night of 22nd to 23rd of December 1981
Robert is now 44, literate, and he currently resides at the Wisconsin Secure Program Facility (WSPF), the 'supermax' prison in Boscobel, Wisconsin, USA.
It is a prison where he is locked up for 23 hours a day, but usually 24. When someone wants to visit him, it is via video visitation. He is restricted severely in telephone use, receiving reading materials, and he is totally dependent on the prison staff for everything. When he is taken out of his cell, he is handcuffed.
This kind of isolation leads most often to psychological stress and not to rehabilitation.
Robert once remarked: They put us in here (Supermax) to break our spirits but instead we are like charcoal. With all the pressure, we turn into Black Diamonds.
Robert has received much retaliation, because he has been suspected of and charged for the murders of these two policemen.
His sentence is two Life sentences + 110 years...
Robert is in search of a lawyer who can help him come back into the courts in order to have his case reviewed again. He is well documented and up to date with what is needed for his case in order to be successful.

Mr Collins-Bey needs at least 1500 US Dollars to pay his debts due to the fact that there is no work to earn his money, and costs he makes come from copies and stamps for his case, doctors' bills, hygiene articles, etc. Furthermore he needs funds to hire an attorney who can help him out of prison.
