A warm welcome to another page of memories from those days of freedom from the North Sea, please enjoy these wonderful Maritime Memories......................
Remember those hot days in the mid 70s when Caroline was on and off all the time. The time when the Mi Amigo had more bodging on its hull than a Reliant Robin has fibreglass. Little bits of wood keeping the water out of the bilges, keeping that wonderful free radio dream alive. Well even if you can't remember here is another chance to hear when the Mi Amigo nearly sank (1977). According to The Sun this was her final wave, her last voyage. Well after this and many other near catastophies she finally met her watery end in 1980. The Ross Revenge took over her spot in the North Sea in 1983. BELOW ARE FOUR AUDIOFILES GIVING YOU AN IDEA WHAT IT WAS LIKE FOR THE DJs
MI AMIGO THREE
In the same year as the above events Caroline celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Marine Offences Act. There was a link between the Mi Amigo and the Centre Airport Hotel, the link was a transmitter somewhere on land relaying highlights from it. I think it was then edited in some way for transmission on board the Mi Amigo, then I taped it. BELOW ARE SOME MORE AUDIOFILES FROM FLASHBACK 67, AUGUST 14th 1977
