Our Beginnings
A little pre- Collie History.
We had a mix breed, who grew mean as she grew older, we took her to Obedience School to see if that would help.  We ended up 4th out of 30 dogs, and I loved it.  Then a friend asked me to help train her dogs, we went to register, but were too late, and so just went each week to watch, and trained the dogs at home.  This went so well, that other friends started asking for help, and the Paris Obedience School was born.
Reading in Magazines, I realized people didn't think much of trainers who didn't compete with their dogs.  therefore I needed a pure bred dog to compete with.  Met a wonderful lady at a Trial, and met one of her Collies.  After researching the various breeds, decided the Collie would be the dog for us.  Mrs. Helen Pope of Sumerset Perm. Reg'd became my mentor and life long friend when she sold me "Candy"
Golden Sumerset's Candy CDX, Am.CD, HCs, HCd, CGC, TDI,TT, VC,
AWCA Hall of Fame, and 2 points.
Candy's Story
Candy was my learning dog, she was trained and retrained as I learned more and more at various seminars and lessons.  A gallant lady, she willingly tried everything I asked of her.
When we went to the States for her American CD, she won a prize for every leg. I remember being so proud of her that I wanted to show them all to the border guard.
Candy was the first Canadian Collie to pass a Herding Instinct Test, and therefore is honored to be in the AWCA Hall of Fame.  She produced 3 litters for me, and taught me sooooooo much.  Most importantly she taught me to love the Collie Breed.  If I ever get a scanner, I will add a photo of her.  But now on to her most famous daughter, "Love".
