Mr Jiggles
I have always loved Landie's and I find them synonymous with a harsh Africa. I was set from the start to get a Landie to do this tour in. And I don't regret it.
To begin with, I bought a re-built Landie that looked the part but was poor mechanically. I've ended up losing money because of that decision. Beware of re-built cars. And second hand car salesman!
Then along came Mr J. Experiences included Namibia and the Okavango Delta (Botswana) as a photographic tour operater. Being a year younger than Mr Jiggles, I thought I was ahead on looks (and speed!),  and did a little cosmetics.

Originally kitted with:
- 45 ltr long range tank
- dual battery system
- solid fibre glass roof with roof rack
- 2 spare wheels
- radio
- Weber carburettor

He was perfect. He felt right. But that's yet to be proven.

I have re-done certain things in the hope of making my 26 yr old bruvva more durable:
- 4 new leaf springs with 1 extra leaf on rear pair
- new Safari shock absorbers
- rear shelves for packing convenience
- plug points from 2nd battery for the 12 ltr Engel fridge etc.
- spot lights
- new main battery
- inside light
- repaired speedometer
- fire extinguisher

I've got a 5-man ground tent and stretcher, because a comfortable sleep cannot be underestimated after travelling Central African roads. For water storage, I've just bought a 25 ltr plastic water bottle (Makro) and plan to still get a smaller 10 ltr with a tap for ease of use.
And then there's all the camping stuff like lights, gas, Cadac, wolf packs etc.

So the basics are covered; food and water, shelter and warmth.

Long live Mr Jiggles!
