History and Motivation(Continued from home page.) In my teen years, through studies that were encouraged by one of my peers and an expanding group of associates, I became convinced that Jehovah's Witnesses had the fundamental and profound answers and that the way to be successful in the most (ultimately, the only) meaningful way was to follow the commandments, guidelines and counsel laid out in the Bible - particularly as understood and explicated by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. That paradigm, however, failed to live up to my hopes and expectations, and after about 30 years of involvement with it I decided to stop blaming myself for the failure and take an honest look at what was really going on. I came face to face with the fact that my religious orientation had incited me (directly or indirectly) to make many choices that had caused me and others an enormous amount of needless suffering. The result of my best effort to honestly assess my experience with the JW paradigm was my arriving at the perception it did not manifest the qualities of a "God of love," or of a Deity that I would consider to be worthy of my worship. I subsequently left the JWs, thereby completing the dismantling of my life and ultimately invoking a complete separation from my former friends and family members, including my children - by their choice, in harmony with the organization's teachings. (I had, many years previously, alienated nearly all of my natural relatives by insisting on pursuing JWism and incessantly preaching it to them.) While undergoing various travails, including 18 months of homelessness resulting from a legal case and what I experienced as an unduly harsh application of so-called justice, I studied many different approaches to personal growth and development, some with religious or spiritual trappings and some devoid of such trappings. Eventually I came into association with a Neo-Pagan group and began to self-identify as a Druid. I was particularly interested in the Druid path because of its emphasis on "transformational magic," i.e. techniques promoting personal growth and empowerment and the idea that in the long run, the greatest transformative effect on the outer world can be achieved by first effecting inner transformation, healing and growth. However, I never conceived of Druidry as "the true religion" per se, nor did I sense that it offered all of what I was seeking, and thus I continued to study other paths while I regarded Druidry as the "central sun" of my personal "spiritual planetary system." In time, I became particularly interested in the idea of personal Guidance, and began to look more within for such than to outside sources. While "spirit guides" are a feature of New Age thought and shamans interact with "power animals" and other spirit helpers, people who have been involved with remote viewing and out-of-body experiences tend to present and support the concept that one's real Guidance comes via what is sometimes called the "higher self" or the "superconscious mind" - what may be described as "higher levels of one's own identity." I felt then, and still feel, that if you can't trust yourself then who can you trust, and how do you know that external powers are not misdirecting you in ways that promote their own agendas that may not be aligned with your best interests? I asked my Inner Guidance to offer me direction, according to the most fortuitous timing and process, toward the situation or situations that would serve the best interests of my personal evolution. Throughout much of my journey since I left the JWs, it may have appeared to outside observers that I was bouncing from one interest to another, but I was gathering ideas from many sources and filtering and correlating them, working toward a synthesis that I could not yet clearly discern but that I believed would manifest in due time. In August, 2004 I was first introduced to Keylontic Science (KS) in a context that moved me to take it seriously and investigate it. My initial combination of intense interest combined with "healthy skepticism" gradually gave way to awed amazement and the assessment that it is all that it is claimed to me. KS is the foundation of The Freedom Teachings of the Melchizedek Cloister Emerald Order (MCEO) - a body of information that was the universally accepted common knowledge of a pre-ancient advanced civilization, that has been preserved via holographic recording discs of extraterrestrial manufacture and has begun to be re-translated and disseminated in recent times. The content of the messages that caused offense on the other egroup and thereby resulted in the creation of the Freedom and Empowerment Studies (F&E) egroup was at the time beginning to reflect an increasing KS influence, and it is my hope and intent that that influence shall continue to pervade my postings. At the same time, I do not intend the F&E egroup to be exclusively a forum for discussing KS and related material. While the Freedom Teachings are presented as undistorted and highly targeted information supporting "consciousness studies, spiritual development, life empowerment, personal enrichment and environmental responsibility ... with foundations firmly rooted in love-based egalitarian spiritual humanitarianism," they are not claimed to be the only information potentially relevant to, and useful in, such contexts. Disclaimer: I consider my views as expressed via this website and the Freedom and Empowerment Yahoo! group to be informed by the Freedom Teachings. That is not to say that there is a one-to-one correspondence between the two. I am not authorized to speak for MCEO or Azurite Press, nor are my expressions endorsed by them. When I refer directly to the Freedom Teachings, I respectfully and appreciatively try to make accurate statements and can be expected to promptly correct any inaccuracies that are brought to my attention. If you want to know more about the Freedom Teachings and how they compare with traditional belief systems, I offer here a separate essay and some suggestions for further investigation.
