| FAQ (Frequentely Asked Questions): Q. How can these sites give away money and gift cards for free? That just doesn't make sense! A. Actually, it does make sense. Why? Easy-because advertisers are paying these companies to get you do offers and complete surveys. Basically, on the Paid Offers sites, companies pay sites like QuickRewards and InboxDollars everytime someone, through those sites, signs up for an offer with that advertiser. In turn, QuickRewards and InboxDollars keep most of that money, but give away part of that money to you, the person who does the offers. As for the survey sites, companies and advertisers want to know what you think. They want to know how best to market their products so that you will buy them. So, they contract survey groups, pay them money for surveying their memebers (you) and the survey group then pays you part of what they received for running the survey. Q. So, before I start with all this "freebie" stuff, what should I do? A. First off, set up at least one other email account. Try and use Gmail if at all possible-Gmail is one of the best free email accounts out there, and their spam filtering is legendary. Secondly, open a PayPal account, (easy and safe way to receive money online). Q. PayPal? A. PayPal is a online payment company, sort of an online bank, set up by the world famous Ebay. Basically, it allows you to receive and send money through the internet easily. You can also deposit the money from your PayPal account into your normal bank account, or request a check, etc. It's free to setup, and it's really useful to have when buying off of Ebay, or for receiving money from Freebie sites. Q. How do I receive payments from Survey companies? A. Some will pay you via PayPal, others will mail you a check, and other will send you giftcards, coupons, etc. Q. Anything else I should setup before starting? A. I suggest getting FireFox, a new browser system. It's generally better than Internet Explorer, and quite easy to use. Also, make sure you have a good Anti-Virus program, and a good Anti-Spyware program. I haven't had any problems with virus's or spyware from freebie sites, but I just like to be careful. Q. You mentioned spam in the first question/answer. Will I get hit with spam from freebie sites? A. Yes and no. All of the legit freebie sites I've used are very good about not sending you spam. They don't want their reputation ruined by that kind of behavior. On the other hand, for some of the offers that sites will pay you to sign up for, you'll get some spam from those offers. That's why I suggest Gmail-it automatically filters pretty much all spam beforehand. Q. Why does your site look so...simple? A. Haha-thanks. DotComs cost money-Geocities, (what I'm using for this site) is a free webhosting service and they offer a free program to make your own websites-I'm here for the the freebies, right? So that's why I'm making this website on Geocities-cut me some slack, ok? Q. I've got a question that isn't answered here...what can I do? A. Check out the Contacts page. |
