Cloning Made Easy by Various Authors

This is a great little side effect of the trainer and Blizzard's poor programming. Blizzard claims that it would have taken to long to have each game begin and end with storing the character's on it's server, yet here is the proof they aren't exactly telling the truth. The only reason cloning is possible is because Diablo transmits all the information about the player to every other player in the game and when I say all information I do mean all information(name, stats, equipped items, and inventory items). So, now you may be saying yeah, but how does that help me clone someone. Well, using Enigma's Trainer you can save not only your character but the character of anyone else you play with.

1.) Start Diablo and the trainer.

2.) Either create a game and have the person you want to clone join, or join a game in which that person is playing. (For Example, If you want to clone a guy named "DarkStar", then either get him to join one of your games, or join a game that he is in already).

3.) Press ALT-TAB to switch from Diablo to the trainer. Then select save and choose the slot that corresponds to the name of the person you want to clone. (For Example, Above we want to clone someone named "DarkStar". So, after switching to the trainer and selecting save we choose the slot that has the name "DarkStar" next to it).

4.) Exit your current game of Diablo and go back to the character selection screen.

5.) At the character selection screen select New Hero. Then pick a class (note class doesn't matter).

6.) Enter a new for your new character, note the name must EXACTLY MATCH the name of the person you are trying to clone. CAPITALIZATION is Important. (For Example, The person we are cloning is "DarkStar", so the name of our new hero must be "DarkStar", not darkstar or even Darkstar. The capitals must match Exactly, so the only name that will work is "DarkStar").

7.) Start a game of Diablo with your new hero and then use the trainer to restore the copy of the player you are cloning to this new hero. (For Example, We saved a character named "DarkStar" so we could clone him. We then created a new hero named "DarkStar" on our system. Now we will use the trainer to restore the saved copy of "Darkstar" we made earlier).

8.) It is best to exit the game at this point and then start a new game if you want to use this character.

That's all you need to do to make a complete clone of another character. This cheat actually works really well when used with the Dot cheat to add dots to the character and make it appear exactly like the original when logged onto Battle.net.
