| LINK SLIPS AGAIN September 21, 2007 In a 16-Man Tournament, the title was once again put on the line. This time, we had two new special guests. Ness and Green Link joined the originals of Link, Fox, Yoshi and Marth. In the end, to no surprise, it was up to Fox and Link once again. As soon as the GO! came on, both went straight at it. But this match wasn't as epic as we have seen before. With two stocks left, Fox was able to defeat Link and retain the title. This is the second defense in a row where Link is two-stocked. Seems as Link's fire is dying out. We'll find out next time. FOX SHINES September 09, 2007 After a Tournament last week, Fox regained the title. This week, Fox faced off against Link in the last match and he once again defeated Link to retain the title. Congratulations to Fox. BACK ON TOP August 24, 2007 A quick four-man Tournament was held this time and in the end, it was up to Fox and Link once again to face off. Both stars were on their game today as Fox seemed to step it up and fight faster than ever seen before. Even Link was impressed by the speed. But being as good as he is, Link stepped up to counter the speed and defeat Fox. The rematch was no different. Both great battles and Link was able to regain the FFAF Championship. Great job on both parts. BATTLE OF THE TITANS II August 10, 2007 Twelve men walked into this tournament and only one was able to come out. But thats nowhere near where the story ends. In the end of the Tournament, Link was able to defeat Fox. But in Fox's rematch, he showed no mercy and took the title back. This is where FFAF experienced an adrenaline packed dose of deja vu. Link and Fox went at it, with both being triumphant over the other ever rematch, over six times. he with the impressive beginning always got shot back down with the even more inpressive comeback. But in the end, as Fox defeated Link and faced him off again for the rematch, Fox got in the impressive beginning and was able to survive Link's comeback! Both with one stock left and in the near hundreds, it came down to the first smash got the victory. Fox's overwhelming speed in connecting with the Up Smash was the reason for victory this night. Hands off to both superstars for they gave it their all and showed they are an even match. But tonigh, Fox was the better man... or beast... or man-beast... Congratulations to Fox! FOX FURY August 03, 2007 An 8-Man Tournament was held this time for the title which inlcuded the entire FFAF roster. (All but 3 were CPU). Fox and Link faced off in round one in the last tier. The match was close and seemed to be in Link's favor as he got the first stock out of Fox and only suffered 30% of damage. But in the end, Fox came back and both stars ended up facing off with their last stock and both in the upper 100%s. A quick dodge to Up Smash sent Link up for the elimination. Samus then faced off in the semi-finals against Black Link (CPU). It was a close battle but in the end, Black Link got the win. The finale included a familiar Fox vs Link match only this time, Link was CPU. Fox got the easy victory without suffering a stock loss and retaining the title for another week. TITLE STAYS IN PLACE July 27, 2007 A 12-Man Tournament was had once again this day only this time it included three special guest superstars. With the usual Fox, Link and Samus in the battle, they were also joined by Kirby, Falco, and Captain Falcon, as well as the rest of the bunch being CPU. Fox was up first against Samus where the winner ended up getting a free pass. Fox defeated Samus. Then came Captain Falcon who was eliminated by the CPU. Link moved on next. Falco and Kirby then went at it with Falco coming out victorious. With Fox's free pass, Link faced off against Falco. Link decimated this poor creature. In the finals, Fox faced off against Link in a classic battle for the title. With both superstars focused on the title, comebacks were seen showing little to no weaknesses to each other. In the end, Fox got in the Up Smash Kick for the win and retained the title. TWELVE MEN WALKED IN, ONE FOX WALKED OUT July 20, 2007 Today beheld a 12-Man Tournament which included Link, Fox, Samus, Yoshi, Marth and 7 CPU. In the first round, Marth was eliminated by Samus. In the second round, Link was elimnated by Fox. In the third round, Yoshi was eliminated by Samus. In the finals, Fox defeated Samus to win the tournament. Bu the night wasnt over yet. Link still had his rematch. In the rematch, Fox and Link were in the zone and focused. In one of Link's stocks, in the heat of the moment, he ledge hopped away fro the stage and ended up losing a valuable stock. In the end, Fox came out on top and became the new SSBM Champion. Link will go down with the most amazing title reign in history which might be very difficult to top off. UNIQUE YET INDIFFERENT July 13, 2007 A two out of three falls tournament was held for the first time in history. This fight included Link and Fox. Link defeated Fox in round one. Fox defeated Link in round two. In the final match, Fox was able to come out on top with two stocks left! It's been quite some time since Fox had defeated Link. Unfortunately for Fox, in the rematch, Link got in the upper hand. And in Fox's rematch, Link was also able to get over and retain his title and go down in history with the longest reign ever. MONTH UPDATE July 08, 2007 Not much has changed for the past month. Link has continuously defended his title and came out victorious. Fox is still the top contender but seems to have lost some of his spark. Fox has picked up a new way of fighting but it still needs more work to overthow the astounding defense of Link. On July 6th, Fox and Link once again faced off in the ending of the tournament and it seemed Fox had it won. With one fresh stock and Link with 128% it seemed Link had no chance. But in the comeback of the century, Fox wasnt able to get close enough to Link without being pushed away, hard. In the end, Link got the upsmash to send Fox off the stage and straight down for the surprising and amazing victory. FOX COMES UP SHORT June 01, 2007 In the match, Fox and Link went at it. On both men's last stock, Fox was at 70% with a fresh Link facing him. Fox seemed to be coming back but a forward smash by Fox colliding with a Spin Attack from Link had sent them both flying but due to Fox being weakened, he was sent off the stage and to the depths below. Link once again retains and shows why he is the Ultimate Smash Star. CLASSIC HERO VS. VILLAIN FINALE May 25, 2007 In this tournament held for the title, Link and Fox were pitted against each other in round 1. Link got in the victory. In the end, Link faced off against arch nemesis Ganondorf (CPU) for the title. Link was able to defeat Ganondorf to retain his SSBM Championship. TITLE SWITCHES HANDS May 13, 2007 After the usual tournament, in the end, it was up to Link and Fox to face off for the title. Judging by the battles, Fox was not in his game. He lost the tournament and then lost the rematch naming Link as the new champion. When approached Fox for comments all he had to say was "Every elf has his day." TITLE MATCH HITS NEW RECORD May 04, 2007 Sixteen characters walked in, only one walked out. In these sixteen, it included Fox, Link and Samus. In the end, Fox walked out as the winner. But his night wasnt over yet. Not by a long shot. As former champion, Link had the right for a rematch. And there was a Link v. Fox rematch. As a matter of fact, these two went at it for seven matches after the tournament! One superstar kept defeating the other back and forth for six straight matches. Fox won match six so we were headed to match seven. Never had two men gone to so many grueling matches just to see who truly is the SSBM Champions. In match seven, with one stock left for each, Fox got in a forward smash attack on Link sending him off the stage. Seeming as Link were to return to the stage, the most unfortunate thing happened. The spin attack failed to come out on time and Link fell to the darkness of the FInal Destination to finally lose the title to Fox McCloud. Both superstars were really tired after so many fights that full respect is amended for their non-stop battles just to show their love for the championship. We salute both stars and congratulate Fox on his eleventh championship reign. OVERSEEN FOX REIGN; LINKS RETURN TO THE TOP April 22, 2007 On March 28, Fox gained the title in a tournament which due to problems was not able to be recorded at the specific time. Fox McCloud reigned as supreme champion until the day of April 21 where a four-man tournament was held. Fox was eliminated in the first round by Link. Link then defeated Samus in the finals to beocme champion. In the title rematch Fox was able to defeat Link. Link then returned with a victory of his own. In the last match which seemed to be very close, Link came up with the victory when Fox seemed to have lost his second jump after being smashed off the ledge and fall to his "shamefull loss." NEW LIGHT SHUN UPON TITLE March 23, 2007 Two title tournaments were held this time. First one, Fox entered as Champion and left as Champion. During the tournament, Link fell to Samus in the second round. Let it be recorded as Samus' first victory over Link. In the end, Fox faced off against Marth to retain. In the second tournament, Link defeated Fox in the semi-finals to leave the title up for grabs. In the end, Link defeated Marth to become new champ. Fox got the rematch after where he regained the title and then defended it again in a rematch which included Samus in a Triple Threat. Link won the Triple Threat. In the rematch, Link defended in a Fatal Four Way Lightning Melee including Fox, Samus and Falco (CPU). Link successfully defended the title in this very hard bout. The title seems to be gaining a new light upon it as a new faction of options for matches have arisen. THE BATTLE OF THE TITANS March 02, 2007 The top two superstars of the industry clashed head to head in a battle that would not be soon forgotten. Passion, concentration and focus were flowing in the bodies of both Fox and Link this night. In a quick four man tournament, Link ran through Yoshi as Fox swept through Samus (CPU) to meet each other in the final battle. The end of the tournament crowned a new champion, Link. In Fox's rematch, the title was taken away from Link and into the hands of Fox. Right after that, Link pulled out victory regaining the title from Fox. In the next bout, Fox once again took the title back! There was no stopping either of these two men! In the end, in Link's second rematch, the match was very close but Fox got the last smash and was able to retain the SSBM Championship. This may well be the match of the year. FOX BREEZES THROUGH TOURNAMENT February 23, 2007 A 16-Man Tournament was held today and, in Fox's words, it was the fastest and easiest tournament yet. This tournament held Fox, Link and Samus and the rest were random CPU. All the superstars were in the same tier. Fox first beat Samus and then defeated Link with two stocks left and in the end faced off against CPU Ganon to retain the SSBM Championship. Asking Link about his thoughts, he said he "wasn't feeling it" in this tournament which all superstars can definately relate to. FFAF FOUR WEEK UPDATE February 16, 2007 In an action packed four weeks, championships hit records. Especially in Fox's favor. FIrst, Link gained the title back in a Tournament where he faced off, in the end, his new found destroyer, Marth. Being 2-0 against Link, Marth was becoming a force to be reckoned with. But in this Tournament, Link seemed to set all concentrations on winning and thats exactly what he did. In the following tournament Link retained once again facing Fox in the end. On February 16, the title was challenged four times. In the first 24-Man Tournament, Fox surpassed Game & Watch to face off against the champion Link who got a freebee pass to the finals. In a close battle, Fox regained the title. In the rematch, Link seemed to have the match won but in the end, Fox came out on top. Fox needed more blood to settle his thirst so he he put his title in a Triple Threat against Link and Game & Watch. Fox came out victorious. In a surprising move, Fox settled into putting his title up once again only this time in a Fatal Four Way! The challengers were Link, Game & Watch and Samus. In the end, Fox once again came out victorious only this time going into history by not only being the first to ever put the title in a Fatal Four Way, but to win as well. SPECIAL GUEST SURPRISE January 12, 2007 A 16-Man Tournament was held for the title and what a tournament it was. The tournament included Champion Fox, Link, and special guests Ness, Yoshi and Marth. The rest were level 9 CPU. A new champion was to be crowned that night when Link defeated Fox in the second round to advance to the semi finals. Marth defeated the CPU and Yoshi defeated Ness. In a surprising upset, Link fell short to Marth's overpowered sword! Yoshi then lost to CPU Luigi making the final match Luigi vs Marth. Marth pulled out the victory to become the first ever special guest SSBM Champion! Fox obviously got his rematch clause and defeated Marth. In Marth's rematch, Fox beat him yet again to retain his title and take Marth's 15 Minutes of fame away from him. THE YEAR OF THE FOX January 05, 2007 A New Year, a new Era. It is safe to say that 2006 was Link's year of dominance and Godliness. But this is 2007. The first Tournament of the year was held and it was a Three Stock Four Man Tournament between Fox, Link, and special guests Yoshi and Captain Falcon. The tournament started off with Fox v. Yoshi. Yoshi impressed the locker room when he/she took out a stock from Fox first. It wasnt over there because Fox came back and returned the favor. Three times. Up next came Link v. Captain Falcon. Falcon impressed Link by pressing in the most damage and giving him the biggest fight from all special guests during the first stock. Also suffering one stock loss, Link came back and eliminated Falcon. With the finals being Fox v. Link, the match would determine the era that 2007 would waltz into. As always, both superstars give it their all and make it a close match. But in the end, it was Fox McCloud with his Up Smash Kick that would cement him as a dominating Champion and mark this the YEAR OF THE FOX! EVERYONE HAS A BAD DAY December 29, 2006 A quick and to the point tournament was debuted tonight. Eight entrees for the SSBM Championship. Champion Link faced off against special guest Roy to move on to the semi finals. Fox faced off against constant guest Game & Watch to move on to the semi finals as well. At the finals, Link and Fox faced off once again. In a crude and sloppy match to say the least, Fox was able to come out victorious. In the rematch caluse, which was also no where near as epic as any other battle they have had before, Fox came out on top to retain the Championship. Seems like the focus of both superstars is now being altered at each other's presence. LINK REDEEMS HIMSELF December 22, 2006 After a couple of weeks with the SSBM Championship being in the hands of Fox, this week's tournament resulted in Link defeating Fox to regain the title. On the rematch clause, Fox seemed to get sloppy and let nerves get the best of him to lose to a Link with two stocks still in play. If there is one thing that can be said about Link its that his Mind Games truly work. ANOTHER HISTORIC NIGHT December 15, 2006 For the first time in FFAF history, in a first ever 5-Stock 32-man Tournament for the SSBM Championship, Link did not make it to the finals. In fact, this time he didn't even make it to the Semi-Finals! In the Quarter Finals, Fox and Link faced off and in the end, Fox came out the victor. Also participating in the Tournament were special guests Mr. Game & Watch and Roy. Roy was eliminated by the CPU as Game & Watch went on to face off against Fox. Fox defeated Game & Watch and reached the finals where he faced off against a CPU Game & Watch and came out as victor and still SSBM Champion for two consecutive weeks. Fox McCloud's dream of defeating Link more frequently seems to be starting to come true. LINK'S AWAKENING December 8, 2006 Links Awakening is no figure of speech for this statement really points out todays events. First off, Blue Link was called back from retirement to face off against Link for the SSBM Championship. Blue Links surprising awakening and the events that followed quickly enforced the reason why he had retired in the first place. Secondly, a special guest Link made an appearance tonight that was being hyped for weeks in the locker room talks. As soon as he walked in, he was placed in a 3-stock one on one battle in Final Destination against FFAFs most dominant superstar, Link. This battle of the heroes was anything but epic. FFAF Link defeated the special guest Link with suffering but one stock. Special guest Link then faced Fox. Fox won without losing a stock at all. The new Link then faced off against another special guest, Mr. Game and Watch and he suffered a loss to him as well. Unfortunately, sometimes hype is all there is to a newcomer. But with some heavy training, this Links future may be full surprises. Last, but definitely not least, history was made concerning the most dominant character Link and, the next big thing, Fox. A 64 man tournament took place for the SSBM Championship. This tournament included Champion Link, Fox, and special guests Mr. Game & Watch and Link. In the semi-finals, it came down to Fox and FFAF Link. In a close match, Fox came on top with the victory and moved on to the finals to face CPU Captain Falcon. Fox McCloud defeated C. Falcon to become a second time FFAF Champion! But the story doesnt end here. Links Awakening happens at the rematch clause where Link gets his deserved title rematch. In an extremely close battle, Fox came out with his head held high and new title around his waist as he now enters the history books for being the first superstar in FFAF history to defeat the dominant Link two times in a row and retain the title. Congratulations to Fox McCloud! NEW CHALLENGER MAKES NO DIFFERENCE December 1, 2006 Special Guest Marth made his appearance at this day's tournament but in the end, it made no difference. The two semi-finalists came out to be Link, when he defeated Marth then a CPU to enter the semifinals, and Fox ,who defeated Samus and then a CPU to enter the semi finals. Link prevailed again when Fox clumsily took his own stock after a botched dodge and left no chance for a win. Link went into the finals to face off against a CPU in the upper table of the tournament and once again left with his head up high retaining the SSBM Championship. SO WHAT ELSE IS NEW? November 10, 2006 The SSBM Tournament took place on this day for the SSBM Championship. Samus failed to make it to the semi-finals as she was defeated by the Ice Climbers in a hard fought battle. In the end, Link faced off against Fox for the title. As no difference from before, Link showed his true skills when he defeated Fox with two stocks still in store. So what else is new? Maybe Link should put his skills up in an All Out Brawl for the Championship. That would put Link into the Elite Guild of the SSBM superstars. HISTORIC DAY October 19, 2006 This day marked an incredible day in FFAF history. A first ever Triple Threat Tournament was held for the SSBM Championship. In the final battle, current Champion Link faced off against (CPU) Ganondorf and Fox. Link was able to retain. Later that day, Link II was able to get a title shot from Link in Final Destination. After a brutal match, Link II was victorious and became first time SSBM Champion! Using his rematch clause, Link faced off against Link II and in a really close battle, Link was able to regain his Championship. Link II decided to also use his rematch clause but came out short. In the same day, Link II was able to end his losing streak against Fox. Fox then faced off against Champion Link and came up short of a win as well. It is safe to say that Fox was in a major slump this day, Link II was on fire and Link retains his name as most dominant star in the FFAF. Samus was not abole to make it due to some Metroid problems back at home. SSBM CHAMPION SURVIVES A 48-MAN TOURNAMENT October 13, 2006 Current and reigning Champion, Link, put his SSBM title on the line in a grueling Tournament that showcased the most talented characters in the business. In the semi-finals, Link faced off against former Champion, Fox. Link was able to defeat Fox and head on to the Finals to face (Black) Link. In the end, Link was able to win and retain his title and reputation. BLUE LINK RETIRES October 7, 2006 As stated before, Blue Link took some time off to re-heal physically and mentally. But in his mind, he seems to be burned out completely so Blue Link has decided to retire from the FFAF. We wish Blue Link luck in his future endeavors and hope to one day work with him again. REMATCH CLAUSES MAKE A SHORT TITLE REIGN October 6, 2006 As former Champion, Link was entitled to a rematch. The rematch was held right after Fox won. A focused Link faced off against Fox and I the end regained what was once his, the SSBM Championship. In return, Fox practiced his rematch clause but it just wasnt enough to stop Links momentum he had build up. Link once again retained and is now back in the throne as SSBM Champion. THE IMPOSSIBLE HAS HAPPENED! October 6, 2006 This date will forever mark the day that Link goes into the history books as the longest reigning SSBM Champion in FFAF History. Why now? Because the impossible has happened! Link lost the championship. A 64 Man Tournament was held today and after countless grueling matches, Link was once again in the Finals defending his title. Only this time, Link was defending against a focused Fox. At one point in the bout, Link was down to one stock as Fox still had all three! This led Link to show his true skills by taking down Fox enough to make it a one stock bout. In the end, Fox was able to connect with a Smash Kick to defeat Link, win the Tournament and become SSBM Champion! Congratulations to Fox! LINK WINNING STREAK CONTINUES! September 29, 2006 No melee character has ever brought so much tension and pressure into a match when being faced against. Sometimes Link may gain a complete and untouched win just as he may win with only a stock left in the arsenal. Nevertheless, Link still comes out on top and retains the title of SSBM Champion and continues to be Undefeated in Single matches. NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHING! September 22, 2006 This night, a new character came out into the stage and faced off against Link for the FFAF SSBM Championship. Who was the challenger? Fox McCloud! As the match came and went, Fox came really close to defeating Link and end his prestigious undefeated streak but a Fox Self-Destruction made Link the retaining champion! After some acknowledging, Fox was presented his Con to be his overwhelming Agility and the need to learn to control it. The day Fox controls his agility is the day Link gains a threatning competitor. BLUE LINK TAKES TIME OFF September 22, 2006 After getting another chance at facing the undefeated Link for the Championship and once again blowing it, Blue Link has decided that it was time to recollect himself physically and mentally. We wish Blue Link luck in his training and future endeavours. |
