Four pairs of teams competed on the same Amazing Race edition: 1, 3, 7, and 10. These pairs of teams may be the source of sparks that fly from competition. The latest pair was the coalminer and wife, David and Mary, against the beauty queens, Dustin and Kandice. However, these teams got along just fine despite the scrapes the queens had with Lyn and Karlyn. The queens thought well of David and Mary, calling them nice people and their favorite team of the Six Pack.

From earlier Amazing Races:

Additionl information: David Conley had made it to Round Two in consideration for the Survivor series on CBS. The producers had been interested in him as a coalminer, but passed his name along to the producers of Amazing Race, who then contacted David to see if he would want to appear in an upcoming Amazing Race. The CBS web site featured short descriptions of the 11 teams and pre-show interview videos, details of each episode, and the FINISH LINE webcast, live each Monday after Race elimination episodes and the finale.
