MY DIARY

This is not going be as detailed as it must have sounded. It's just a some important dates that I feel like blasting. I'm starting from the very beginning: GENESIS till the moment. Contents could be sometimes funny. Just laugh it out, no strings attached.

July 31, 1986: I landed on the Planet earth through that classic door: My wonderful mother's womb. I could not remember much but I knew there were pains, blood and eventually joy.

1999: I became a Manchester United fan. I'm talking about the best club in Premiership, in the world.

November 4, 2002: I got admitted into Bowen University, Iwo of the Nigerian Baptist Convention. I felt so great, in a university at last. Something I've really longed to experience.

Lots of things happened back in school, so much that I could not afford to keep dates. My first few days in school, it was all about getting to know people around. My schoolmates and I happened to form the first undergraduate in that school. So, it was quite easy. I had just four roommates then: Adebanwo Olanrewaju, Ajayi Olayiwola and Oluokun Tolu. School was fun with so much freedom, though balanced with the need to exceed academically.

I made my best of friends in my second year: Adebanwo Olanrewaju, Awobamise Ayodeji and Oladipo Rommel. These three and I formed a group of four close friends who happened to be course mates, roommates and Campus Brothers. I however have other close friends too especially Yemisi Adeaga (Gagat), Banzi, Morpheus, Ay, Biggie, Bolanle Aderemi, Damilola Adebayo, and Oyinloye Bayo, amongs others. Don't let me scatter your thinking faculties with names of people you may never meet. lol.

All pioneer Bowenites cannot but remember the so called 'Face Cap Boys' who tired their best to bring cultism to our school. It was a touch battle in February 2003 between FCB and the entire students at midnight. That was the end of cultism and if there happen to be further plans to create such, those involved have no choice but to remain hidden for as long as they are on the Blessed Bowen Land. 'Where dem face?' 'Where dem skull?'

Bursar's Lodge is another great experience. That's the worst accommodation I've ever got in Bowen University. Spending a whole session (academic year) in that place was like spending eternity in Hell. Those who shared the painful moments with me would not but remember. However, having my campus brothers to share the pains and joy in that same lodge was consoling. Irrespective of the nature of the accommodation, there was FREEDOM and FUN.

February 23, 2004: This day coined the saddest day of my life and remain the saddest till now. The day it dawn on me that I will no longer see the closest, dearest, and most caring woman I've ever known; my grandmother was called home, I was bereaved. The fact however is that I only said goodbye, I know I'll see her one glorious morning in heaven above. She was buried on March 20, 2004, the day I wrote my final examination for that semester.

Life was when I was given birth to, but life actually began after grandma's crossover. I had to see the fact that I've got to be independent no matter what. The fact that people will not always be there. Life could be short, but those that understand the rules of the game enjoy it and record a millennium out of their tens of years.

Most of the events I could not but remember and share are those that happened in my last academic year in the University.

November 28, 2005: I suffered from a terrible heartache. That day, I thought it was over, but God showed his better plan for my life. Instead of dieing, I ended up writing the most important poem of my life: MYSTERY OF HUMAN CIRCLE.

November 28, 2005:(4:18)

July 7, 2006: Though July 7s are meant to be my pap and tobi's birthday. It became much more intresting for this year as my course mates and I were on excursion to Daybis Printing press. It was more of a get-together thing than academic. We however learnt some practical tips about printing and printing press. To double the joy, the vice-chancellor organized a cocktail party for the pioneer students that same night.

July 17, 2006: I finalized and bound my project. That seemed to be a dream come true after days of rigorous research, typesetting, proofreading and editing.

July 21, 2006: My last Friday night as an undergraduate in Bowen University. I conveyed the deepest feelings face-to-face to no avail. Get Details.

November 4, 2005: My convocation ceremony (graduation). It happened right where it started: Bowen University, Iwo.

November 27 to December 1, 2006: My Adventure to Middle-Belt and Northern Nigeria: NIGER, ABUJA, BENUE, JALINGO.

December 21, 2006 to January 4, 2007 2006: My fist time on a plane: LAGOS to ABUJA. Spent few Days in Abuja, where I met Aunty Grace, her lovely sons (Sen and Ezra) and Naomi. Went to Jos by Road on December 24. Stayed in Jos till January 3, 2007. Visit WWW.CHRISTMASINJOS.CO.NR for details.

Now: Dreaming, planning and working towards the better days. With God, all things is possible and done.

"I can be everything but that which I do not want to be."
