extended list of
IEEE volunteer activities
Publications

I have long published in, and reviewed papers for, SPS publications. In 1992-95, I served as an Associate Editor of the
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing. As SPS VP Finance, I served on SPSs Publications Board, built publication budgets, and participated in page-budget planning.

As SPS President and Past President, I fostered two proposals for new publications the
IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (T-TIFS) and the IEEE Journal on Selected Topics on Signal Processing(J-STSP). In that role, I presented to TAB Periodicals four times.

SPS had several Technical Cosponsors for
T-IFS. At the invitation of the IEEE Computer Society, SPS became a Technical Cosponsor of Security and Privacy Magazine. I encouraged these relationships to better serve the security and privacy community.

Conferences

In the 1980s, I began my IEEE volunteer activities as a member of the Signal Processing Societys (SPSs) Digital Signal Processing Technical Committee (TC). While a member of that TC, I participated in the Program Committees of many SPS ICASSP conferences, served as Technical Co-Chair of SPSs 1984 Workshop on Digital Signal Processing, and served as that TCs representative to SPSs Conference Board.

Later, as a member of SPSs Image and Multidimensional Signal Processing TC, I participated in the Program Committees of many SPS ICIP conferences, served as Finance Chair of the 1995 ICIP conference, and served as that TCs representative to SPSs Conference Board

As SPS VP Finance, from 1996-99, I again served on SPS's Conference Board
