| Main site accessed to locate free web hosting and learn about building websites was www.google.com This website was designed and built using page builder on www.geocities.com 1. The following websites provided me with the information I needed to build this site: www.geocities.com. www.homestead.com www.tripod.com, Each site had similar offerings and only two offered free website hosting. The tools on all three are similar and fairly easy to use. 2. Today's assignment was to build a website. I used geocities since I seem to be more comfortable with that particular place. My website address is as follows: http://www.geocities.com/freckles92324/My_page. html The graphic for this page came from www.clipart.com www.clipart.com provided me with lessons in how to access, upload, and change graphics when needed. 3. As I worked on this site I discovered that having students build their own websites using the curriculum would be an excellent way to help them engage in the learning process in my classroom. I believe that students will be able to build their own sites using the curriculum and this use of technology will not only enhance their learning, but it will provide them with technology skills that can be used throughout their life. |
| About me! I have been teaching English in high schools for 18 years and am still learning and growing with my students. As I finish my masters degree in reading/language arts, I realize that technology is an aspect of education that needs to be incorporated into my curriculum more that what it is already. That is, I want my students to be able to do more than just type a paper for an assignment. I also want them to be able to use technology in a creative way that will also include building websites for the class topics as well as creating power point presentations. It is with this in mind that I will continue to add to this site and take what I learn back to my students. |
