Couples: Internal

This page contains all ten possible couples for Numbuhs 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. It's called "internal" because it involves only the five main characters.

#1 and #2

• In Operation: G.R.O.W.-U.P., #2 says that getting ice cream "just isn't the same without Numbuh 1," and at the end, #1 puts his hand on #2's shoulder.
• In Operation: A.F.L.O.A.T., when #2 disappears, #1 yells, "Numbuh Twooo!" and tries to go beneath deck to find him. When #5 stopped him from going back, he broke down and started saying things like, "It's all my fault!"

• In Operation: Z.O.O., when the KND are trying frantically to get out of their cage, #3 gets a running start and then #1 boosts her up to the ceiling (in a failed escape attempt), and then #3 falls down on top of him.
• In Operation: G.R.O.W.-U.P., in the battle with the DC that the KND lose, when #3 is defeated, #1 yells "Numbuh 3!!" but doesn't do that for anyone else.
• In Operation: F.A.S.T.F.O.O.D., #4 makes fun of #3's abilities, but #1 gives her a mission to do.
• In Operation: B.R.I.E.F., #3 kept on looking at #1's posterior.
• In Operation: E.N.D., #1 helped #3 out of the decommissioning chair first, although I think the person closest to him was #2.
• In Operation: B.U.T.T., #3 cried when the others dropped #1 into the ocean, and she also cried when #4 explained that #1 was leaving the team.
• In Operation: H.O.S.P.I.T.A.L., #1 assures #3 that Bradley will be okay, and #3 returns with googly eyes.

• In Operation: L.I.C.E., after #4 says his lice speech and gets separated from the others he says, "Right, Numbuh 1? Numbuh 1?"
• This isn't really proof, but in Operation: P.O.P., #1 and #4 were bottled together. ^^;;
• #1 saved #4 from falling off the edge of the aircraft in Operation: F.A.S.T.-F.O.O.D.
• In Operation: B.R.I.E.F., #4 was the one who started teasing #1 about the underwear and he also called #1 his "best friend".
• #4 started crying after #1 left the team in Operation: B.U.T.T.
• In Operation: L.O.C.K.D.O.W.N., when #1 crashed into the treehouse, #4 yelled, "Numbuh 1! Oh, please tell me you're okay!"

• In Operation: L.I.Z.Z.I.E., when #5 is trying to get the mind control helmet off of #1, she says, "You're being brainwashed! You gotta fight it!" #1 then responds, "You're just jealous." Then #5 says, "Jealous?! Don't hold your breath."
• In Operation: C.A.M.P., when #1 is attacked by a lanyard, #5 runs after him and says, "Numbuh 1!!" (She doesn't do this for #s 2, 3, or 4.)
• In Operation: Q.U.I.E.T., #5 is very concerned that #1 gets his sleep.
• In Operation: Z.O.O., #1 and #5 work together to save the rest of the KND members and she winks at him at the end.
• In Operation: G.R.O.W.-U.P.,
  1. #5 lectures #1 about changing his attitude and how he used to be cool. #1 is very affected by #5's words, and he reforms.
  2. When #1 is trying to keep the piano jammed in the fireplace, #5 says, "We gotta help Numbuh 1!"
  3. At the end of the episode, #5 puts her hand on #1's shoulder.
• #1 likes to make teams consisting of him and #5. He does this in Operation: P.O.P... and in Operation: I.-S.C.R.E.A.M., #1 and #5 are on the ice cream truck together.
• In Operation: C.O.L.L.E.G.E., they have that argument and #5 does most of #1's rescuing.
• In Operation: L.E.A.D.E.R., after Lizzie said that #1 put her in charge, #5 decided to trust Lizzie, saying something like, "Well, if Numbuh 1 put you in charge..."
• In Operation: U.T.O.P.I.A., #5 calls #1's name urgently when they lose contact with him.
• In Operation: F.O.U.N.T.A.I.N., it's revealed that #5 will never forgive the DC because they made #1 bald, and when #5 sees #1's bald head at the end, she smiles as if her heart was melting and decides to save Leona.
• In Operation: B.U.T.T.,
  1. #5 is the one who is most serious about helping #1.
  2. She puts her hand on his shoulder at the end.
  3. Also, for some reason, she calls #1 "Nigel" twice in that episode.
• In Operation: L.O.C.K.D.O.W.N.,
  1. #5 is most concerned about #1, telling the others to guard him and she seems to hold him in a higher esteem than all the others ("Numbuh 1 is sleeping, the others are useless...").
  2. #5 tries to reach out and get #1 to fight the spank-happiness, and almost succeeds.
• In Operation: J.E.W.E.L.S., #5 goes through a lot of trouble to retrieve a jewel-candy that is precious to her because she's been saving it for #1's birthday.

• In Operation: L.I.C.E., when #3 uses her nacho cheese bomb, #2 yells, "Numbuh 3!!" (at least, I think it was #2 who yelled that).
• In Operation: C.A.M.P., #3 and #2 adopt Bradley and become like his mom and dad. They also argue about taking care of the baby like a couple. There was also that really cute way how Numbuh 2 put his hand on Numbuh 3's shoulder.
• In Operation: P.O.P., #2 saved #3 at the expense of #1 and then later said, "Gotta save #3!"
• In Operation: F.A.S.T.-F.O.O.D., #3 exits the restaurant at the same time the KND charge towards it. The KND then double back and #2, at the front, picks up #3 and carries her on his shoulder.
• In Operation: F.O.U.N.T.A.I.N., #3 was riding on #2's shoulders when they were surfing on all the milk and was having a lot of fun.

• They work together well, as seen in Operation: G.R.O.W.-U.P. And in Operation: G.R.A.D.U.A.T.E.S., koala-#4 was riding on hippo-#2's back.
• They do lots of things together, like eating old cheese fries (P.O.I.N.T.), and having flashlight duels (N.O.-P.O.W.U.H.), and making fun of #1 and Lizzie (L.I.Z.Z.I.E.), and racing each other to the curb (L.I.Z.Z.I.E.), and splashing around in the water (F.U.G.I.T.I.V.E.), and making fun of #1 and his underwear (B.R.I.E.F.), and playing Yipper Card Squadron (U.N.C.O.O.L.).
• In Operation: K.I.S.S., #4 misses #2 the most. (He says stuff like, "I wish #2 was here," and, "Stupid hamster project," and interrogates the hamster about what the hamster did to #2.) Also, at the end, when #2 is sad to see Cree being taken away, #4 says, "Are you crying?!" very angrily (jealousy? >:D)
• They dine together at the cheese restaurant in Operation: T.H.E.-S.H.O.G.U.N.
• This probably doesn't count, but in Operation: F.O.U.N.T.A.I.N., toddler-#2 caught toddler-#4 when #4 fell down, and patted him on the back.
• When #4 got hit by ice cream in Operation: M.A.C.A.R.R.O.N.I., #2 yelled, "NUMBUH FOUUUR!" and went over to him.

• In Operation: P.I.R.A.T.E.,
  1. When #5 shares her secret stash of candy, #2 says, "Wow, you're the best, Numbuh 5!"
  2. This comment also comes into #5's mind when she's offered Stickybeard's treasure.
  3. #5 is falling off the ship and #2 comes swinging in and saves her.
  4. Lastly, at the end of the episode, #2 calls out to #5, asking if she is okay.
• In Operation: P.O.P., for some reason at the end, the soda guy is only looking for #5 when he opens the bottles.
• In Operation: D.A.T.E., #2 & #5 go to the dance together.
• In Operation: T.A.P.I.O.C.A., in #2's retelling of the stories, #5 admires his wisecracks, which probably reflects #2's inner desire to be admired by #5.
• In Operation: K.I.S.S., Cree says, "And he's [Hank's] cuter than anyone you'll ever date," (does this sound like dramatic irony to anyone else?), and #5 says that she'll keep Cree's CDs and her boyfriend nice and safe.
• In Operation: B.E.A.C.H., #2 and #5 were playing in the water and teasing #4 together, and fighting the knights together and... well, they pretty much were always together in this episode.
• In Operation: F.O.U.N.T.A.I.N., they hugged (well, because they were afraid, but still).
• In Operation: U.N.C.O.O.L., #5 gets kind of annoyed when #2 makes a big deal over #78.
• In Operation: H.O.U.N.D., you can see a concerned look on #2's face when #5 walks into class scratched up and gives her #4's homework when she's about to be attacked by a werepoodle.
• In Operation: R.A.B.B.I.T., #5 playfully swats at #2 with her hat when he makes a bad joke at the end.

• In Operation: G.R.O.W.-U.P.,
  1. #3 hits #4 on his behind with a towel.
  2. #3 and #4 are sitting in the ice cream truck and eating ice cream together a lot.
  3. In the ending credits, #4 is offering #3 an ice cream.
• In Operation: A.R.C.T.I.C., #4 gets flustered when #30c remarks about how cute #3 is and gets jealous when #3 remarks about how cool #30c is.
• In Operation: O.F.F.I.C.E., #4 is going to leave all the girls until #3 comes. Not only is he willing to save her, but he's also willing to save her even if it means he goes to Pluto. Also, when the rocket crashes, #3 hugs #4, and he gets very flustered.
• In Operation: C.A.T.S., #3 says she loves #4 and #4 says he loves #3 (of course, this is #4-dressed-up-like-Mr.-Huggykins).
• In Operation: D.A.T.E., #3 and #4 go to the dance together & dance.
• In Operation: G.H.O.S.T., he falls on top of her near the beginning of the episode and he also grabs her hand when she's being pulled back into the grave near the end.
• In Operation: B.E.A.C.H.,
  1. #3 asks #4 to be her "Prince Charming".
  2. #2 & #5 tease #4 about his crush on #3.
  3. #4 is upset when #3 is captured and gets engaged to Sandy.
  4. #4 blushes a lot and hides behind his excuse that #3 owes him a (non-existant) quarter.
• In Operation: U.N.D.E.R.C.O.V.E.R., #4 has something to confess to #3 and it's NOT that he's secretly a rainbow monkey fan...
• In Operation: E.N.D., #3 flirts with #4 ("Yoo-hoo! Numbuh Fou-ur! Good luck!"), and he starts blushing.
• In Operation: B.U.T.T., #4 tries to cheer up #3 when she starts crying (awww).
• In Operation: S.L.U.M.B.E.R., #12 and #23 ask #3 if she likes #4 (well, it seems like other people notice something going on between them).
• In Operation: H.U.G.S., #3 and #4 are at the Rainbow Monkey Fair and Share Fair together (kind of like they're on a date), and when #3 hugs #4, he blushes.
• In Operation: T.R.I.C.K.Y., #3 glares at #4 and he immediately rectifies his sentence, and at the end, #3 says, "I hope Numbuh 4 didn't do too badly."
• In Operation: H.O.S.P.I.T.A.L., #4 gets upset when #3 makes a big deal over the operative in the hospital.
• In Operation: F.O.O.D.F.I.T.E., #4 lunges to stop the Slamwitch from taking away #3.
• In Operation: N.U.G.G.E.T., #3 offers #4 a chicken nugget that she was saving for unfortunate kids.
• In Operation: P.O.O.L., #3 hugs #4 and congratulates him on his ability to swim and #4 could tell that -#3 wasn't #3 by looking in her eyes.

• In Operation: G.H.O.S.T., #3 hugs #5 and holds her hand when they're investigating the ghost hamsters, and #5 helps #3 escape Chubbo's grave.
• In Operation: A.F.L.O.A.T., when #3 is eaten up by the Great White Asparagus, #5 yells, "Numbuh 3!" and when #4 pays more attention to #3's rainbow monkey, #5 says, "That thing just ate Numbuh 3!" so #5 obviously has her priorities straight and is more concerned about #3.

• #5 likes to tease #4, as seen in Op. ARCTIC, CATS, FUTURE, and ROBBERS.
• In Operation: R.O.B.B.E.R.S., #4 and #5 ride the bus together, and #4 offers #5 the opportunity to copy his homework (aww, how sweet!).
• In Operation: F.O.U.N.T.A.I.N., #5 saves #4 a lot and #4 reminds #5 about the importance of saving kids.
• They tend to back each other up in battle and work together (Op. PIRATE, LIZZIE, CAMP, CHAD, PRESIDENT).
