If you want to learn more about starting your own business in South Africa, I have included some resources on this site that may help out if your are just starting off. It sure helped me.

My beliefs on inventing:
* I don't believe in Patenting. Why?
  - They make money for attorneys
  - They make money for patent marketing firms
  - Loopholes such as prior art and failure to disclose nullify a patent
  - Synchronicity is REAL.
  - You cannot defend your patent against more than ONE litigant without becoming bankrupt.
* The more you share, the better your ideas become.
* If you have feedback on your ideas, this might lead to later development of the better ones.
* By becoming involved in a community inventing becomes a fun pastime.
* The only way to get commercial gain is by collaboration only.
* Markets aren't exclusive. If say 20 people produce the same product, and it is popular, they will have to fill in the market - nobody has the capacity to fill the whole market the whole world.
* By publicly disclosing my ideas, it cannot be patented by anybody else, thus the free market wins out!
etc. etc.

I thought it would be fun anyway.
I have a collection of "black books" I regularly write in. Most of the pictures are pasted here, save for 5 or 6 of them I am actively working on for commercial gain.
Some ideas are crackpot. Some are just for laughs. Some are high capital outlay.
And inbetween are some that may have commercial gain.
If you provide your private mail adres to me on alt.inventors, I may provide my other other mail adres , for now, lets keep it at gmail.

PS: Give me a shout if you want 

-To register a provisional patent. I am not a lawyer, but will charge you R150 to buy stamps and file it at the patent repository. All you have to do is write a patent description (example link on this site) and e-mail it to me. I will inform you of my deposit details and once I have the funds, I will file it for you.

-To register a CC. I will e-mail you the forms. You fill it in and email it back . Just remember to get an accountant and attach his letter.Pay me R150 and I will file it for you..

- To buy some computer hardware or import something. I am a registered importer and also a dealer with various distributors in South Africa.

- Some coaching on Electronic Engineering, WAN networks, ADSL, ATM, IP, internet, VoIP, WiFi, Bluetooth and other technologies.

- To buy some books, DVDs, Videos etc. etc. online.
