James Oscar "Os"⁵ GORDON (Benjamin Franklin⁴, Alson³, Samuel², Alexander¹)⁽⁶¹⁾ was born in Haywood County, North Carolina 2 July 1880.⁽⁶²⁾ James died 13 February 1977 in Asheville Nursing Home, Asheville, NC, at 96 years of age. His body was interred 15 February 1977 in Bethel Cemetery, Glenwood, NC.

He married Georgia Etta PEGRAM in Spartinburg, South Carolina, 12 February 1905. Georgia was born in Beach, North Carolina 2 March 1887.⁽⁶³⁾ She was the daughter of Theopholis Giddon PEGRAM and JoAnn Theodosia Gentry.
