WLS Friendly Lasagna Ingredients 1/2 pound ground turkey 1/2 pound lean ground beef 1 jar no-sugar-added spaghetti sauce (regular sauce can be substituted) 1/2 pound shredded mozzarella 1 small tub ricotta 2 eggs Brown the ground meat and set aside to drain and cool. Once ground meat has cooled, mix in one egg and set aside. In another mixing bowl, combine ricotta and last remaining egg, set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 9x13 pan, pour about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup sauce to thinly cover bottom. Layer ground meat on top of sauce, pressing into place. Layer ricotta/egg mixture over ground meat, speading carefully. Layer shredded mozzarella over ricotta/egg mixture. Pour 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup sauce over mozzarella. Repeat the ground meat, ricotta/egg, mozzarella, sauce layers until no more ingredients, finishing with mozzarella. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 to 15 minutes to melt and brown mozzarella on top. Remove from oven and let set about 10 to 15 minutes to rest and firm (for easy slicing). |
