| 1. Write an AU
where the last of Balin's people in the Mines of Moria died only a
few days before the fellowship passed through. Gimli finds a Dwarven
Baby, half starved and very weak, but shielded by the body of a dead
Dwarf, still alive. How will Gimli care for it ? |

| 2. With the
ring gone, the orcs gone and the Balrog gone Gimli decides to
reclaim the abandoned Mines of Moria like Balin tried before him.
How will he fare ? And with him being declared elf-friend and
Lothlorien so near things could get interesting. (This will be very
AU, I don‘t know what happened to Moria after the Balrog was
destroyed by Gandalf and as far as I know Lothlorien will be
abandoned because all the Elves all went west). |

(or fate ?) Glorfindel of Gondolin is not reembodied as Glorfindel
of Rivendell but as Glorfindel the dwarf instead. How will he cope
especially after he reaches maturity and starts to remember his old

Aragorn but Gimli had been raised as a Dwarf foundling in the house
of Elrond ? What happened to Gloin that he couldn‘t raise his son

or Erestor but please not Legolas, Gimli's supposed to be paired
with a Rivendell elf in this one.) |

| 19. After the
colonies are established Gimli decides to spend some months at the
Ithilien Woods and, in turn, Legolas will then go live with him in
the Aglarond for a while. Time to adapt to a totally different way
of life and discover the wonders of each other. Romance

reaches the time of his life when a Dwarf begins to age, and Legolas
feels the desperate urge to begin building their ship. How do they

Mirkwood and Erebor after the fall of Sauron. Both Sindar Elves and

Legolas/Gimli, Thranduil/Glóin and secondary mentions of other
Dwarf/Elf pairings. |

| 25. Legolas
believes Gimli to be dead during the battle at Helm's Deep. This
turns the Elf into the most deadly rage-driven Orc slayer. At the
same time, Gimli must guide Eomer and a group of Rohirrim soldiers
through the maze that is the Aglarond if he wishes to see his Elven
beloved again. |

| 26. After the
War of the Ring Gimli and Legolas refuse to be parted and travel
together through Middle Earth for two years. In the meantime Gimli
learns his beloved's language and Legolas becomes the first Elf to
ever be taught the secret tongue of the Khazâd. |

Thranduil sees in his son's love for Gimli a painful echo of the
concealed emotions he always held for the fiery-hearted Glóin. As
both parents are forced to deal with their heirs' choices their own

sense of closure drives them to ponder their true feelings for each

live long lifes and Gimli knows that, even now with Aragorn dead, he

Earth. Gimli, unable to see the pain his lover/friend (you decide)
is in, any longer does the only thing he thinks he can to set the
