| Chapter 32 "OK, why is she locking the door?" Howie asked. A.J. stood up and started to make his way to the door. "Alex, sit down," Tara said in a stern voice. A.J. turned around to look at her, and what he saw made him run back to his seat. Tara and Tracy both had a different appearance. They were both in long gowns, and seemed to be glowing. There was a power behind their eyes that sent chills down everyone's back. "Oh my God," Leighanne said under her breath. Tara looked over and smiled at her. Nick was sitting there with his mouth wide open, unable to put a sentence together. Brian and Kevin just sat there smiling at each other. "What Kevin and Brian are saying is true," Tracy said. "We were sent here to help all of you through this," Tara said. "Why us?" Howie asked shyly. Tara looked over at him, "Because you guys affect a lot of people in this world. You are role models to millions, and your work is not finished yet, God still has plans for all of you. If we hadn't been allowed to intervene, things would be much different. There would be no Backstreet Boys anymore." A.J. was sitting in his seat dumbstruck, "So you two are really angels?" Tara and Tracy both laughed, "Yes, Alex we are," Tracy answered. "And this whole thing with Kevin is really over?" he asked. Tracy walked over and put her hand on A.J.'s shoulder, "Yes, it really is." A.J. was starting to cry, he looked over at Kevin, "Man, I'm sorry for all the bad things I said and thought about you." Kevin got up and walked over to A.J., "It's all right. I would've done the same thing. You were just trying to protect Brian, your heart was in the right place." A.J. reached over and gave Kevin a hug. Howie got out of his chair and walked up to Kevin, "I'm sorry too," he said as he embraced Kevin. They were all crying now. Tara walked over to Brian and Leighanne. She took each by a hand and walked them over to Kevin. Leighanne gave him a hug, crying on his shoulder for a minute before letting go. "Lee, I'm so sorry," Kevin said, "Please forgive me." Leighanne looked at him with tears in her eyes, "Of course I do." Kevin and Brian stood there staring at each other, until Tracy and Tara both came up. Tara took Brian by the hand, as Tracy did Kevin. Brian looked over at Tara, "It's all right," she whispered to him. They walked Brian and Kevin closer to each other until they were standing right in front of one another. Tara took Brian's hand and placed it over Kevin's heart, while Tracy placed Kevin's over Brian's heart. "We want you two to know what the other feels," Tracy said. Suddenly Brian and Kevin were consumed with the others feelings. Kevin could feel Brian's confusion, his anger and his fear. Brian could feel Kevin's guilt, his hopelessness, and his remorse. They were both weeping uncontrollably now. The other's didn't really know what was going on, but they were in awe of the power they could feel. Tara and Tracy let go of Kevin and Brian. "Bri, I'm sorry!" Kevin cried. "Kev, I'm sorry too," Brian said as he embraced Kevin. They both stood there for what seemed like an eternity, crying on each others shoulders and telling the other they were sorry. Nick got up and walked over to the others. He walked up to Kevin and looked him in the eyes. Nick could see the pain and guilt in his eyes, "Kev, I want you to know that I'm sorry for what I thought about you. You're my big brother, and I love ya man." Kevin embraced Nick, "Thanks bro." Tracy looked over at Tara, "It's time to leave," she said. Tara nodded her head, and turned to the guys. She walked over to Brian and gave him a hug, "Please take care of Nick," she whispered. Brian smiled at her, "I will." Leighanne gave her a hug, "Thank you so much." Tara just smiled at her. Howie and A.J. hugged her goodbye, then Tara turned to Nick. Nick looked at her with tears in his eyes. "So this is goodbye?" he asked. Tara nodded her head. "Tara, I can't do this. We didn't have enough time together. I don't want you to leave," Nick pleaded. Tears were falling down Tara's face, "Nick, I told you that when this was over I'd be leaving......" "I know, but it wasn't suppose to be this soon!" Nick said. Tara took his hand and held it, "Nick, I will always care for you," she said. Nick looked at her, his heart breaking into a million pieces, "I will always love you," he said through his tears. Nick leaned down and gave Tara one last kiss. Tara pulled away, tears falling down her face. She walked back past the guys and stopped in front of Brian. She reached over and took his sling off, "You don't need that anymore," she said as she put her hand on Brian's shoulder. Brian gasped at the power he could feel running through his arm. Tara took her hand away and walked over to Tracy. Suddenly the room was filled with a flash of light and Tara and Tracy were gone. Everyone stood there staring at each other not knowing what to say. Nick sat down and put his face in his hands. Howie and A.J. walked over to him to try and comfort him. Leighanne walked over to Brian, who was standing there moving his arm every which way. "Are you OK?" she asked. Brian smiled at her, "She healed my arm Lee." Leighanne put her hand over her mouth, she just couldn't believe what had happened. Brian looked over at Kevin, "Lee, take Kevin down and check him out." Kevin smiled and followed Leighanne out of the room. Brian walked over to Nick, "Why don't you guys go with Lee, we'll catch up in a few." Howie and A.J. made their way out the door. Brian sat down and put his arm around Nick's shoulders. "You OK?" Brian asked. Nick looked up at him, "No. Brian, I really truly loved her. I know we weren't together that long, but it was just there, you know?" Brian nodded his head, "I think that she really loved you too." "Bri, how long did you know?" Nick asked. "Since I died. She was there with me, telling me to come back. And when I woke up, I remembered her being there, so I asked her. That's when she told me." Brian said. "You knew all that time, and you didn't tell me?" Nick asked. Brian took a deep breath, "Nick, she swore me to secrecy. And she promised me that she would stop what was happening between you two." Nick sat there for a few minutes, "She did ya know." "She did what?" Brian asked. "She broke things off between us, but then I told her that I should be the one to make the decision whether or not to have my feelings hurt. She told me she was trying to spare my feelings. I told her that I would rather have one day with her, then a life time of nothing." Nick said, a new batch of tears starting to fall. Brian looked at him, "Well, you have grown up haven't you." Nick looked at him, "Yeah, and it sucks too." They both laughed. Brian stood up, "Come on, let's get outta here." Nick got up and followed Brian to the door. He turned around and looked at the empty room, "Goodbye," he whispered, then turned around and left. Chapter 33 |
