| Chapter 33 Two months had passed since Tara had left. The guys had put the tour back together in record time, and tonight was the first show. The press had not gotten word about what had happened, and the guys had decided that would be something that their fans would never find out. Nick had been staying with Brian and Leighanne while they were putting the tour together. He and Brian had stayed up countless nights talking about God and life in general. Nick still wasn't over Tara, but each day got a little easier. One thing that was much better was the relationship between the guys. They were closer now than ever before. Nick made his way down the hall to the dressing room. A.J. and Howie were there going over some last minute changes in the show. The guys had decided to bring back their solo's. Everyone had rehearsed theirs except for Nick. He hadn't even told them what song he was gonna sing. "You ready for tonight?" Howie asked. "Yeah, as ready as I'll ever be," Nick said as he sat down. "So, what song you doing?" A.J. asked. Nick smiled, "You'll just have to wait and see." "Damn Nick, you know I'm not good at waiting. I'm kind of an instant gratification guy you know," A.J. said. Nick and Howie burst out laughing, knowing what A.J. said was so true. Brian and Kevin walked into the dressing room. "Should I be afraid?" Kevin asked seeing the guys laughing. Nick looked at Kevin, "You should always be afraid." "Yep, that's what I thought," Kevin said. Brian walked over to Nick, "You ready?" "Yeah," Nick said. "Well let's all get dressed, show starts in an hour," Kevin said. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The guys huddled together in the hall, it was time to go on. "OK, Bri, you wanna do this?" Kevin asked. Brian nodded his head, "God, thank you for all you've done for us. Please help us to have a good and safe show. Thanks for you many blessings and your Divine Intervention in our lives. Amen." They clapped their hands and headed on stage. The concert was going great. The crowd was wired! And the guys were having the time of their lives. It was time for the solo parts, and Nick was first. The rest of the guys were backstage changing when they heard the piano. They all stopped and looked at each other, "Oh God," Brian said. Open up your heart to me, and say what's on your mind. I know that we have been through so much pain, but I still need you in my life, this time. And I need you tonight, I need you right now. I know deep within my heart, It doesn't matter if it's wrong or right, I really need you tonight. As Nick was singing he was remembering all the time he had spent with Tara. His heart was breaking all over again. Tears were falling down his face. I figured out what to say to you, but sometimes the words, they come out so wrong. And I know in time that you will understand, that what we have is so right, this time. And I need you tonight, I need you right now. I know deep within my heart, It doesn't matter if it's wrong or right. All those endless times we tried to make it last forever more, And baby I know I need you, I know deep within my heart, it doesn't matter if it's wrong or right. I really need you, Oh Oh Oh Oh The guys had hurried and changed and walked out on stage, I need you tonight, I need you, Oh I need you baby I need you right now, It's gotta be this, it's gotta be this I know deep within my heart, No it doesn't matter if it's wrong or it's right All I know is baby, I really need you tonight. All the guys walked over to Nick and hugged him, and they all walked off stage. "Nick, why did you do that?" Brian asked seeing how upset his friend was. Nick just shook his head, "I felt like I needed to." "Howie, you better get out there," Kevin said. "Oh right, it's me now," Howie said as he ran back out on stage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The rest of the concert went great. The guys were all high fiveing each other on the way to their dressing room. They opened the door and walked in, stopping dead in their tracks. Nick came through the door last, and stopped, his heart in his throat. There sitting on the couch was Tara. She was dressed in jeans and a tank top, and had her hair pulled back in a loose pony tail. Tara stood up and walked over to Nick. "Are you really here?" he asked, not believing his eyes. "Yes, and I'm here to stay," she said smiling. Nick was so overwhelmed with happiness that he didn't know what to do. He grabbed Tara and started swinging her around, laughing and crying at the same time. When Nick finally set her down, the rest of the guys came up to greet her. "Good to have you back," Brian said smiling. "It's good to be back," Tara said. Howie and Kevin gave her a hug. A.J. walked up and hugged her, noticing her tattoo. "Wow, you have a tatt too?" he asked. "Oh yeah, you never did tell me what that meant," Brian said. Tara looked at them and smiled, "It means angel."
