Global
Community
We have several ways for you to
communicate!
Use this loop to get lots of quick replies to homeschooling questons. Have Homeschool Questions or just want to share great educational links, stories, etc? We'd love to hear from you. If you have questions, please be specific. "Please tell me about homeschooling" can be overwhelming. :-) |
|
Another National Inclusive Group! | This site is a vehicle for the sharing of ideas and will interest a wide range of people - from Unitarian Universalist families who may or may not be homeschooling to those who are interested in homeschooling but may or may not be UU. This is a place where open minds can consider alternatives to traditional public education. |

COOL Schools of Alabama
According to Alabama law section 16, the only legal way Alabama parents can homeschool is through the “church school” laws. Of course, the state doesn’t define what “church” means. Anyhow, we are a church school, but we function as a “cover school” to sponsor families that wish to homeschool their children. We refer to them as a “satellite campus” and “satellite classrooms” In this manner we can comply with the law, and parents are free to teach their children. We do not enforce any specific belief system, no enrollment or tuition fees, and only ask that the families we sponsor cooperate with our rules in order to make sure everyone stays legal.

We consider ourselves mostly secular homeschoolers
but don't turn anyone away because of beliefs or their
homeschooling method. (We encourage people to come to one
of our events and meet us; if we're not a good match for them,
they can usually tell fairly quickly!) We have many
teen activities because we have a number of teens in the
group. We also have all-age activities and various field
trips. Our main focus is finding fun activities for
our kids.

Club
The Homeschool Fun Club is an inclusive group formed to help
homeschool families connect with other homeschoolers.
Homeschoolers of all religions and educational philosophies are
welcome.
Rose Rock Philosophy:
We value and respect our different educational philosophies as
well as our diverse religious views and affiliations. Because we
have different backgrounds, we require acceptance (or at least
polite toleration) of all members. Our common ground is that we
are all home educating.
